Warriors adventure tour

This was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. Every day promised something new and exciting. From walking on fire to jumping off of a 70m high cliff. This tour teaches you that you can do anything you set your mind to. There are so many things to recount I can barely think 😂. We ate mopani worms and took chocolate shots (instant diabetes). There was also a cuddle puddle every night in one of the tents. I really loved it, I made so many new friends.
I’m definitely coming back next year. We were such a positive group through tour the entire trip. We supported each other and I created relationships with people that I will never forget. The facilitators and guides were great and they really made you feel at ease, they helped you face your fears!

The most exilhirsting journey

The most exilhirsting journey making amazing friendships and bonds. Absolutely loved stepping out of my comfort zone and pushing my limits. I absolutely will always stay with je theoughout the rest of my lifetime and the fun that i had is unfirgettable. The camping and positive attitudes was definately thr best energy one could ever surround themselves with. All of the activities teach one to become the best person they can possibly be and it teaches one how to handle situations in real life. We even kissed a hippo how amazing is that. We walked on coals and caving as well as long hiking trips learnong new food types. The best experience for me had to be making the entire trip with new friends and growing together and creating these unbelievably strong bonds.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Has got to be jumping off of a bridge and into the abys below.

Conquered my fears

The last 6 days I’ve conquered more fears that I could in a year, the children I went with, we became very close very quick. The facilitators we also grown close with and loved to hear the stories from them. This camp also made me appreciate the things back home. We also experienced African culture and foods, kissing and feeding a hippo, riding an elephant, caving through old gold mines, hiking along with an awesome bumslide. We also did awesome exercises like obstacle courses, jogging and swimming. On the driving we also saw a rhino, and how many people can say that? . After all this it was a bittersweet moment, with not seeing my new friends again but excited to see the family again. Thank you for the love, care, gratitude and support, had best time ever!

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
When I did the bridge swing, my nerves were out of control but I conquered my fears and came back with a huge smile.

Warriors

Everyone who went on this tour loved it , it created new friendships and close bonds . All of us learned so much and enjoyed all the fun the tour guides are awesome people. We really learned how to work as a team. We did a lot of team building cooking exercises it was so fun we all enjoyed preparing the food , cooking it ,presenting it and of course we all definitely enjoyed eating it. We closely interacted with elephants . We had so much fun we walked over coals. We jumped down a 60 meter swing and down a 30meter bridge. We went through an amazing hike in the mountain to reach the waterfalls which was incredible and also rainy so we did not get too hot. We also completed a militarily obstacle course and we visited and actually kissed a hippo which is a once in a life time experience so I would highly recommend it this tour (I still remember those chocolate shots we had) and the best part it that all of us get treated as adults and equals

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
I would recommend you pick in warm clothes and rain proof coats it may be rainy

New friends, great experience

I learnt so many new things! I made the best of friends with both the councilors and other peers. I am definitely one for adventure but helping others was my favorite part! Everyday was a new adventure and a great experience. There wasn’t a single moment that I was board and I am an extremely busy person. We jumped of of bridges and cliffs. We kissed a hippo, I ate a worm. We climbed a lot of hill’s and rock climbing. We made food. I made to new best friends with who made me smile everyday! We went down a bum slide. I stubbed my toe at least 19 times a day but then again I am very clumsy. We had shots of chocolate. We saw an endangered species witch was a black rhino. We were constantly wet due to bad weather. We had a big cuddle puddle with all of the students.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
Making friends with in the first 10 minutes. Always smiling never sleeping great cuddles. Singing in the bus. Not dying.

Life Changing Experiences

From going from complete strangers to the closest of friends the Warriors Adventure Tour tested our trust in each other. WAT made us push our boundaries, test our fears, reach new heights(literally) and formed the strongest most intense bonds.

Getting to know strangers is weird because you never know what you are going to discover. We were put in situations where we had to lean on each other and build a strong trust. From day one each adventure was new, exciting and nerve wracking. Each experience built a new layer of trust and a unbreakable bond.

From climbing up mountains, cloofing, swimming in waterfalls and throwing flaming toilet paper we were always doing something fun. We did The Big Swing, some of us facing our biggest fears, and The Bridge Swing trusting our group to keep us safe. There was beautiful nature hikes and nature bum slides down rocks faces.

There were midnight swims and cuddle puddles. We all created a close bond and have created memories for a life time. WAT has taught me that I am capable of more than I think. Pushing one's self to their boundaries has been enlightening and we all have a new sense of gratitude for who we are and what we have.

We visited multiple animal facilities that took care of wild animals and hope to make people more aware of the damage that is being done to the environment around us. From interacting with elephants to learning about the endangered species of South Africa we learnt the importance of playing our part in saving our world.

WAT has changed my perspective and opened my eyes to doors I didn't know I could see. Each activity is safe and balance to produce a certain effect. Over the last 6 days I have made the most enviable connections with people is didn't know existed 6 days ago. WAT is something everyone to experience to get out of their comfort zone and experience life as it should be. Too the fullest.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
The Big Swing
Standing on the edge of a ledge would make any human nervous. Free falling is one of the feelings I dispise. Knowing that my entire team who I have spent 4 days with was cheering me and my partner jumper and were waiting for us was the greatest safety net I could ask for.

Warriors Adventure Tour

This experience helped me find myself. I did things I’d never imagine myself doing and learnt I’m capable of more than I ever imagined. It was breathtaking and a great privilege to spend five days with these amazing people. From the beautiful hikes to the terrifying Big Swing, everything was handled with the utmost care and passion. I couldn’t ask for anything more. The food was good, the side trips were full of education and the facilities were far better than I expected. I’m eager to go home, not because I didn’t enjoy myself, but because I’m ready to go back into life a new man with all I have learnt here. The weather sucked but we didn’t complain. The people made the cold hurt a little less. I truly had a great time and will be returning next year.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Definitely the bridge jump. I almost didn’t go, but thanks to the support from the staff, I conquered my fear of falling.

Best year of my life!

I had no clue what I wanted to do after matric. I was fortunate enough to find out about the Warriors program, as it has made me the better version of myself. Not only do we do extreme outdoor activities but the program includes self-development, which was perfect because It made me come out of my shell quite a lot.
I can’t complain about anything with the program - the facilitators are amazing, the people you get to experience this year with become your family and once in a while your treated to something called a boma burger, which is the most delicious burger in the world. Anyways, like I said this has been the most amazing year of my life and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I wouldn’t even hesitate to recommend the Warriors program. I guarantee that you’ll have no regrets joining this live changing experience.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
I would definitely say the 20m cliff jump, at first I thought it was crazy to jump off a cliff at such a height but Warriors helps you overcome challenges and like YOLO! Am I right? That’s what I love about warriors, the things we do, you’ll never get to do them again. The Warriors program gives you amazing opportunities that will be hard to say no to and I thank the program for those opportunities I have experienced.

2nd Quest 2019

I left home for the Warriors Academy program not knowing any of the people that I would be spending time with and not knowing what to expect from the program and the people in charge of it.

It was an amazing time where I grew so close with some amazing people that I will love for the rest of my life all while taking part in amazing activities and seeing so much in such a short time. Every day at Warriors Academy is a day where you are learning and growing to become a better version of yourself.

The facilitators are all some of the most incredible people that I ever met. They always push you to do and be better and at the same time they are like family members that you can share anything with.

Warriors Academy was one of the most amazing experiences of my life and it will definitely be the same for you.

What would you improve about this program?
The program was awesome as it was. I don't think I could change anything about it.

Warriors Academy changes lives

The Warriors Academy is an incredible program. It is a gap year that will set you up for success in the future. It is challenging in every way, mentally, physically and emotionally but you come out the other side with the belief that you can achieve anything. The team is phenomenal and the support offered along each stage is incredible. I couldn't recommend this program enough, especially for those who don't know what their next step is. The adventure activities like kloofing, mountain biking, bungee jumping, hikes etc were really challenging but being able to tackle them was amazing. The workshops on building emotional fitness and building your own path were enlightening and help put things into perspective in terms of life in general. All in all, it was an amazing experience and one that will be remembered forever.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Each adventure activity came with its own set of challenges and being able to overcome my fear really empowered me. I definitely could not have done this without the encouragement and support of the team.
