Great Vietnamese class

I attended a one-week Vietnamese class with LTL Language School in Hanoi in October 2025 and had a great experience. The coordinator Margot and the teacher Jasmine were super nice and helpful.

It was very well organized and I could improve my Vietnamese skills a lot with my teacher Jasmine.

I learned many new words and expressions, and I could immediately practice what I learned during my stay in Vietnam. It was an enjoyable and effective learning experience!

I can definitely recommend and will come back during my next stay in Vietnam.

Awesome intensive Chinese class

It was a great decision to spend my educational leave (Bildungsurlaub) at the LTL language school in Taipei. I had an 1 week intensive course with 4 hours of group class and 2 hours of one-to-one-class each day.

Teachers:
+ very professional teachers (mine were Tammy, Francine, Yunni and Wolfgang) who
+ explained grammar and new vocabulary (and its differences to similar words) very understandably
+ explained everything in Chinese (at my B1-Level course) which let me immerse myself into the language very well
+ are proficient in English so that they could offer English translations, if necessary
- one teacher‘s pronounciation was a little bit unclear and another‘s Chinese characters’ handwriting sometimes a bit difficult to read, but mostly no problem
+ adjusted the class content to my personal needs (e.g. not only sticking to the book but also taught me other vocabulary when I said that I would like to learn more about a certain other topic)
+ created an open learning environment that never made me feel bad when I couldn’t pronounce a word correctly or so
+ only gave few homework
- once a teacher mixed up the schedule and came half an hour too late, but > + she made up for it by offering another class time
+ in general, the teachers rather taught a few minutes longer than shorter, so in total I might have had one free extra hour of classes.

Schedule, class size etc.:
+ opportunity to book a course for only one week and different amounts of class hours, group and/or single classes makes LTL very flexible
/ 6 hours per day is veeery intensive, next time I might switch to four hours per day
+ nevertheless, the mix of group classes and private classes was awesome
+ very small groups (in my group class was only one other student)
- about 750€ per week is quite a lot of money (but worth it)

Staff and community events:
+ very helpful staff (e.g. Alin, always there for questions)
+ organised community events (such as a very fun Lasertag evening with teacher Alice and daily lunches with lovely Riona)
+ workshops on Chinese/Taiwanese culture (e.g. Mahjong with teacher Tammy).

I can fully recommend to take Chinese classes at LTL in Taipei.

Pros
  • Very professional teachers
  • Flexible schedules
  • Free culture workshops
Cons
  • High price

Discovering Vietnam

I booked a 3 weeks program with LTL. They were very patient with me and even allowed me arrange my time as 2 weeks Hanoi and 1 week in HCMC.

The classes were to be held either 2 hours one of one or 4 hours of classroom depending on the student availability.

Teachers were very attentive and to the point in terms of teaching. Also the material was great for learning and exercising the concepts taught in class.

I stayed with host families in both cities. They were very hospitable. Both accomodations were according to what I filled in. However I recommend to be very clear with your requirements, as LTL takes that into account in their search.

In terms of social activities, it was a bit on the limited side because depending on the season you go there may not be too many other students. However both cities are quite large and have a lot of different options in terms of entertainment.

Overall I had a great experience. I thank the teachers and the LTL staff for arranging and accomodating my studies.

A great school with great people

I was so impressed by how the school is well-structured and the people are amazing. The teachers are extremely knowledgeable and kind. I can say those were the best Mandarin lessons I've ever had in my life. Sissi quickly understood what I needed and gave me an unforgettable lesson on business and legal Mandarin after she learned I was a lawyer. Thomas was also a great teacher; he taught me a lot about speaking everyday Mandarin, and I was surprised by how much we have in common. Pinwei has helped me a lot with my pronunciation, something I have a lot of difficulty with. Regarding the team, Alin and Riona made me feel super welcome and integrated me really well with the other students. I highly recommend LTL to anyone of any age and with any goal, because LTL will exceed your expectations.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?

My experience at LTL Chengdu

I had a good experience studying with LTL Chengdu! My teacher Panpan is excellent, she always makes the classes interesting and listens to your wishes and preferred learning methods. She’s also extremely helpful and always ready to share her knowledge about Chinese culture and history! All the staff I met, like Mandy, Unicorn, and Ying were very helpful, fun and positive people! And the environment at the school is very warm and welcoming. And Chengdu as a location is fantastic with friendly and easygoing people and fantastic food! And many interesting places nearby you can explore on your free time!

Saigon LTL

Studying at Saigon LTL has been nothing short of a memorable and valuable experience. Everyone ranging from the teachers, staff, and the homestay family I stayed with, were exceptionally kind and welcoming. I took small group classes and the content was modified to be suitable for each of our levels. Personally, partaking in a small group class made it easier to break the ice and gain confidence in beginning a new language. The school would host events which encouraged meeting new people and to explore what Vietnam has to offer. I would highly recommend LTL for anyone who is looking to learn or improve their Vietnamese. With that said, LTL is more than just a language school because yes you’ll be leaving with improvement in the language but also with unforgettable experiences.

Learning with soul

I would definitely recommend it, with as many stars as you allow me.

They won me over in my first visit. A few minutes inside LTL Taipei was enough to feel the friendly and fun atmosphere. Both staff and students seemed to have a genuine bond. I was initially attracted by their vibe, and then had another pleasant surprise when I met my teacher, Ms. Tammy Cheng. Learning Mandarin with her is a pleasure, extremely fun and effective. The whole staff is brilliant, especially Riona, Alin and Greta. They are very passionate about what they do, and know how to engage the students. Almost everyday there are exciting cultural activities, group lunches, games, etc. I'm staying with the school for one year, at least.

What was your funniest moment?
Finding out that learning Mandarin is a bit like studying music.

High quality teaching at LTL Taipei

I have just finished 3 weeks of learning chinese at LTL Taipei. I’m impressed how much I learned during this time. The teaching styles are very effective and individual. I have had 4 different teachers, everyone with a different teaching style. This helped me a lot, because of the variety it was never boring or tiring. I could choose what I want to improve especially, and the teachers responded to me individually. I loved the cultural activities, like playing Mahjiang and the organised lunch together. The staff is very friendly and passionate, entering the school it feels like coming home. There is a common room, where students do homework, play games, have breakfast or just have fun together. I really enjoyed my time here and like to come back next year.

Pros
  • High quality teaching
  • Cultural events
  • Passionate staff

A wonderful language and cultural experience in Taipei

I’m impressed by how much I’ve learned in just a few weeks. You get to experience the learning styles, accents, idiosyncrasies of different teachers. There are many events organized by the school throughout the week which let you interact with other teachers and students from other levels. I came for ten weeks to Taipei in a combination of group classes and private classes. If I did it all over again I would just start with group classes and once I clearly now what my focus in the language, either move to group and private classes or entirely private. I highly recommend this program if you are willing to immerse yourself in the language and culture.

A big thanks to Riona, Alin and Greta for making this happen!

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I would stay longer! I would really love to become fluent in mandarin, this language is just so interesting and full of surprises.
