KET

The moment we arrived at the training site we were welcomed and greeted with open arms. All the staff members were nice and had answers to many questions that us new teachers had ( and there was a lot of questions). Training was 5 days and everyday was filled with information, great food, and adventure. I loved how hands on this staff was with us 7 teachers. We stayed on the same street of the training building so there was no hassle to get there in the morning. We were quiet a group but it was fun.

Pros
  • thai cooking class
  • afternoon spent at a temple, riding bikes
  • English camp where we did a day of activities at a local school

Best Communication and Support

Matt, my primary contact and advisor at Kids English Thailand, and his staff were easily accessible and supportive from start to finish. I was able to get my questions answered and receive technical help and confirmation for documents and payments sent to this company. Equally as important, Matt was very supportive when I expressed doubts abouty ability to be hired and succeed as an EFL teacher. It was easy to contact Matt and his staff through multiple platforms, including Skype and Line.

Pros
  • Staff is knowledgeable about current processes needed to become a teacher in Thailand.
  • Emphasize professional and sociocultural preparation
  • Facilities provided for living, studying and socializing are well maintained and close to one another
Cons
  • One staff member forgot to provide us with passport photos in a timely manner. Matt immediately addressed the problem and offered reimbursement to those who used their own funds to get more photos taken.

KET Placement

Having worked in the service industry for a couple of decades, I can honestly say, Matthew John and his team at KET are of the highest calibre. Organized, efficient, extremely friendly, very helpful, incredibly supportive and also very informative. Nothing is too much effort!
Having taught overseas in the past, my previous transition would have gone much more smoothly if I had had the support and guidance of a team like KET Pacements. I recommend them without any reserve. Thank you, Matt and Team!!!

Pros
  • KET is reliable.
  • Professional
  • Friendly and Supportive.

Pleasant people, assistance and guidance when needed!

I found KET through my TEFL course job center and applied directly to the agency - highly sceptical at first with tons of question but everything was answered and i willingly put my trust in this company to help me find a teaching job abroad.

I’ve had a very pleasant experience with KET but i will say, it does take the right mentality to make this huge transition easy peasy, and i’m so happy i felt prepared! I’ve met wonderful people through this program and shared experiences with everyone so my absolute best advice will be, do your research! apply directly to KET as you will have more transparency and the team can help you in so many more ways!

i feel like im thriving in my new town and loving every new experience im getting! KET really made the transition of moving abroad easy and bearable to thank you 😌

Pros
  • Orientation week
  • Support and guidance after placement
  • inexpensive program
Cons
  • the bus ride from bangkok was hell, sorry
  • you make great friends during orientation and they’re placed far away :(

My Journey with KET

I was a bit skeptic at the beginning of my journey. When I first got an e-mail from KET, I was wondering if going to Thailand & teaching under this program will be worth it & yet here I am having the best time of my life & that’s all thanks to KET. I haven’t tried working in another country before & to be honest, going out of my comfort zone (the Philippine) isn’t an easy decision to make, but I took the risk. Luckily, KET, especially Matt helped me throughout my journey. I cannot thank KET enough for the help they’ve given to me & the opportunity as well.

Pros
  • Thailand has the kindest people you can ever meet.
  • Food and breathtaking sceneries that Thailand can offer you.
Cons
  • Language barrier

KET

So, you must learn to be flexible. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but if you are used to rigid time tables and thrive in that, this may not be for you. However, everyone is friendly and helpful. They do their best to help you. You can exceed greatly if you put in the effort.

The students are friendly. They want to like you. You make enough to travel on breaks around Thailand. You can have whichever adventure you want to take available in Thailand. The scenery is beautiful.

I will never regret coming to Thailand and teaching here.

Pros
  • Great support
  • Everyone is friendly
  • You gain valuable experience
Cons
  • You must learn to be flexible

KET english program

First I wanna talk about why I gave a 3 for fun! it depends on your definition of fun! my town was very social, there were lots of things to do around it, the kids were so fun, but it lacked a night life scene of course. I was in Phicit . it’s great to save money. However, you have access by train to go to chiang mai or bangkok if you really need to have your night time fun or try out different foods! Just want to put that out there if making friends with other people your age 21-25 is important to you because it’s a bit difficult to do in smaller areas, but you can always make younger friends again in the city and see them on the weekends!

Other than that, it was such an amazing experience to teach these kids and learn the language and culture. it was stress free for the most part when it came to paperwork and stuff because the program deals with all of that for you and if you have any questions it’s PERFECT.! very kind people and check in occasionally, but super easy to reach if you need anything. Definitely recommend them if it’s your first or even second time teaching . it’s so lovely and if i could do it all over again I would!

Pros
  • Time off
  • Access to beautiful places
  • Kind people
Cons
  • communication from school sometimes very late
  • not many cons really!

Kids-English Thailand

I have been living and teaching in Thailand for the past four months. My experience here in Thailand has been overwhelming but extremely enlightening.

I applied for a teaching job through Kids English Thailand who were absolutely transparent and professional. KET made the placement process seamless and timeous. Moving to Thailand was quite a daunting prospect initially as the thought of moving to a new country far away from home was something completely new for me. However, KET gave me peace of mind. Not only was I given answers to all my hundred and one questions, but I was also sensitised about Thai culture and my new lifestyle.

Induction week in Sukhothai was extremely informative and I met other foreign teachers including the incredible staff of KET, who welcomed us like family. After induction I was transported to my placement school in another province where KET assisted me in finding my apartment and helped me with all the necessary running around that I needed to do. In no time I was settled into a new routine and immersed into a new culture.

The KET programme has provided me with the foundations I need to feel confident and assured about my new life here in Thailand. They have been absolutely phenomenal, not only from my pre-departure but they continuously remain in contact and provide me with all the support I need.

I highly recommend KET to all teachers as they are one of the most reputable agencies in Thailand.

Pros
  • KET is professional
  • Transparent
  • Dependable

Journey with KET company

If you're looking for teaching jobs in Thailand, I highly recommend the KET company. Finding work abroad is difficult for me. But, thanks to the KET team, I was able to teach in an amazing school here in Thailand, where my teaching skills were honed. In my placement school, I met amazing co-teachers, made new friends, and most importantly, I was able to immerse myself in Thai culture. I am immensely thankful for this experience, which will be in my heart forever. Thank you for the opportunity, KET. 🙌❤️😍

To infinity... and beyond

I applied to a lot of online sites, submitted my cv and intro video. One such site was called Dave's ESL cafe, an individual contacted me and told me that I would have to pay him $200 dollars before he could start looking for a placement school for me. I was so desprate to get out of my situation, that I almost did that. After speaking to my parents they, they convinced me not to pay any money up front.

In September of this year, my aunt had given me a guys number, she said that he recruited people from South Africa to teach in Thailand. I spoke to him and also sent my cv and intro video. I waited for two weeks, before giving up hope on him. So I figured that there had to be other agencies. I ran a google search: teacher recuitment agency thailand. A bunch of sites popped up, amongst them, was Kids English.

I finished my applications, and all I had to do was wait, not one of my strong suits, I got a response from them within two days. I spoke to Matthew. At that time I did not know much about him and was a little sceptical at first, I did not know the guy, I did not know if this was another scam or not. After speaking to him, he assured me that I would not have to pay anything up front, and would only have to pay him, when I got to Thailand, and that was for a training program that would immerse me into Thai culture. He asked me to send him a Thai friendly cv and intro video. A few days after that, I got a job offer from a school.

This was my oppertunity. This was my oppertunity to start anew. After so many rejection letters and not having a job, this was my chance to go at life on my own. I took it. I made the trip over to Thailand, met Matthew. The guy just keeps on blowing my mind away, not only at how he handles himself professionally, anyone can do that, Matthew is the kind of guy that will sit for hours trying to solve a problem, the guy is like a scent dog whose following a particularly appealing scent: he won't stop until he's got it. If there is a problem, even if its after school hours, he will talk to you and help sort the problem out.

So if you have gotten this far, know this: This is not a scam. This program is by far, the most chapest option. I have friends who have paid way more than I did, and they regreted it after I told them what I went through with Matthew.

I implore you: Give them a chance. If you are like me, then you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Read that again.
