I decided to come to Thailand following the loosening of the covid restrictions in the UK. I was supported throughout the whole preparation process and the documentation was very simple and easy to acquire. KET were in constant contact and supportive in expediting the process.
Once I had arrived in Bangkok, KET organised transport to Sukhothai to engage in a training camp, although the camp did come at a substantial cost, it was completely worth it and was, in my opinion, necessary to my acclimatisation in Thailand. KET then drove me to the school placement town, a school they had found which conveniently needed two teachers in my partner and I, and had organised the accommodation that we would be staying in.
While the town we are staying in is a very small and the social opportunities are limited, KET have kept in regular contact to ensure we were having a good time and settling into the job well.
We were offered exceptional support through an unforeseen and tumultuous issue with visa documentation which with support was solved with minimal hoop jumping necessary.
In conclusion, KET were very helpful in getting us to Thailand quickly and helping us deal with several unexpected issues. While the placement town is quiet and lacks in social ability the advice given to us about being patient and language learning has paid off and a small circle of Thai and Filipino friends has now developed. KET have been essential in our fantastic year so far and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to have a hassle and carefree time in Thailand.
What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
The road rules and general traffic in Thailand was a total shock to me. Thanks to KET's training camp, I was well equipped to deal with the plentiful unexpected traffic issues. (flashing headlights is completely different in this part of the world!!)
