My wife and I have recently immigrated to Portugal from South Africa.

Having stayed here for a couple of weeks now, we noticed that there is a need for English teachers, especially in the more rural areas. Due to this, I decided to embark on my TESOL journey to see how I can play a role in teaching English to the Portuguese. I wasn't expecting that the course would contain a lot of lesson exercises to do while studying. the course also provided several examples of materials that we could use in our classrooms, I found that to be helpful for me as an ESL teacher. I also found that the quizzes for completing each module were beneficial to further engrave all the course material into my head and I was able to discover all the gaps I had with each lesson before the final exam. the course also contained all the relevant material from grammar, speaking, reading, writing, and even how to prepare your lesson plan, manage your class, and conduct tests.

This course was fun! I truly enjoyed learning the know-how of teaching a language I love so much. During my lifetime, I have found myself several times, willing to help people that had the desire to learn English as a second language; but I was not equipped to help them because I did not have the required tools to do so effectively. It was great. I found the program to be very informational without being overwhelming. The pace and organization was easy to follow. I was able to take and keep detailed notes because the flow worked so well. I also enjoyed being able to learn at my own pace. There were many weeks where I found I couldn't log on. Then, there were others when I found I had an abundance of time. I appreciate that I wasn't pushed to complete lessons, and that I could complete as many as I wanted to in one sitting.
