Great Program

I graduated with my TEFL Certificate in September 2022 and found a teaching job here in NYC by December. I also liked the convenience of it being online and also the challenge of finding a place to perform my practicum because it allowed me to better understand how to communicate to schools and ESL venue to look for work and what to expect.
I look forward to building my Resume on the city before I head out to a new country to be a teacher. I wish I would have known of this great program when I was in High School and I would have started my journey to a great career earlier in life, but for my journey I was meant to start it now as an adult. Thanks for all your help International TEFL Academy.

Pros
  • Online teaching
  • Fast job opportunities
  • Lessons were reinforced and supported by videos, zooms, and interactive discussion groups on my time.
Cons
  • They send a PDF Diploma which you have to print out
  • The form to add your full name does not provide a box if you have a middle name

I think it's appropriate for the content

I took this course to get my certifiction a few years ago. It was really easy to access and getting the certification has opened many doors for me. If you are an English teacher, I strongly suggest you get certified, and ITA is a great place to do it.
I already knwe most of the information given because I had experience working at Belitz and I had been trained for this before; however, the content was very on point. It was clear and focused on classroom methodoly, which is important.
I also had communication wiht the tutor, who answer any questions we had.

Pros
  • Getting certified
  • Constant tutoring
  • Learning new strategies
Cons
  • It could be a little more dynamic
  • It could use some videos and graphs

TEFL Program

I really enjoyed this program! I like that there are various programs, ranging from 4 weeks-11 weeks and online to in-person in another country. I chose to do an 11 week online program. I enjoyed my instructor, learning about cultural differences and expectations within different countries, and some aspects about teaching English. The book used is a great guide that students can use when they begin their teaching career. I also love that there are advisors and resources that alumni can use, at any point in time, to start their teaching jobs, whether online or abroad after they finish their certification program. Highly recommend!

Pros
  • Lifetime assistance with jobs abroad and resources for alumni
  • Well known program
  • Can find work immediately online/ abroad

A program to be proud of!

Thorough, challenging, and enlightening.
Don’t go with cheap classes- you really DO get what you pay for. I learned how to teach TEFL with ITA’s help and support.
The practicum is set up perfectly to bring it all together. I also had no idea that the class work was as high level as it was. Instructor was very experienced and basically had a “major” in this kind of program. I also had some “bumps” in my personal life at the same time, and they were very helpful in helping me through the class. A great company!!

Pros
  • College level instruction
  • Office support
  • ITA really knows what they are doing
Cons
  • Hard- but very doable.
  • Long- 3 mo. , but necessary
  • Online- but what else is there to do!! Still worked!

Comprehensive and Fun!

The course was fun and interesting with tons of very useful teaching skills. Instructors and support were excellent and provided great feedback. It gave me a good opportunity to crystallize the concepts I had developed as a teacher already. The course was good for my qualifications and allowed me to get a permanent position in Japan. My biggest criticism of the program is that the website was complicated to use, but my advisor helped me greatly when I had issues. Overall, it was a great program to complete.

Pros
  • Useful information
  • Fun course content
  • Good help from instructor
Cons
  • Website somewhat confusing to use
  • Buying materials was complicated, but support staff helped with the issue
  • I cannot think of another con

ITA - TEFL Certification

I made the right decision when I chose the International TEFL Academy (ITA) as the provider for my TEFL course, for a number of reasons:
- Great platform for online learning (user friendly, good layout)
- Engaging delivery of course topics
- Easy access to a wide range of invaluable resources
- Ongoing support (learning, information, job search, etc.)

Due to COVID-10 travel restrictions in place at the time, I completed the Online 170-Hour TEFL/TESOL Course. Based on my experience with the online course, I'm sure that the in-person course is amazing!

I would highly recommend ITA as a course provider for TEFL training and certification!

Pros
  • Access to invaluable resources
  • Ongoing support (including job search)
  • Relevant and recognised qualification

I can recommend this programme

I decided to become a certified EFL teacher with The TEFL Academy and I had a really good experience throughout the entire course. When I initially paid for it, there was some glitch in the system which did not allow me to access the platform but the IT staff and consultants replied promptly and helped me resolve my issue.

The programme is well structured and allows you to go through it at your own pace. As I had a lot of time, I was able to dedicate more time to it so I got through it faster. The course additionally involves 3 assignments which have to be assessed by a tutor. Although the programme gave them up to 8 days to mark it, I was pleasantly surprised that mine were handed back after a day or two which significantly motivated me and improved my productivity.

Overall, I think it was a good value for money, even for a teacher like myself who already has EFL experience. I was still able to learn more about teaching methods and approaches in the classroom. I would highly recommend this programme.

Great learning experience.

I enjoyed every hour of this course. It was a great experience for me to learn about teaching and how to teach. I highly recommend this course if you're looking into teaching English as a second language. Their advisor's team is very helpful and they can answer any questions or doubts you have. I had a great time learning about the students and what they need to achieve for learning goals. The lectures were very helpful, if you don't have time to read all the studying material, the lectures can cover everything in a very concise way.

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
PACHA is an Iraqi traditional food made from sheep's stomach, trotters and head. All the parts are boiled slowly and then eaten with bread. Tongues and cheeks are the favorable parts when people eat. PACHA is an Iraqi traditional food made from sheep's stomach, trotters and head.

International TEFL Academy Review <3

Everyone who is involved in the International TEFL Academy is wonderful. From Student Affairs (who will contact you initially upon request if you're interested in the academy) to administration, to the teachers. They are all around super responsive, supportive, thorough, and there is a much a human touch about everyone at this academy, it doesn't feel transactional but more a place of community, growth, and support. The online module is very easy to navigate and the timeline is very digestible for due dates of course work (I took the part-time course that is spread over 12 weeks). The part-time course is perfect for anyone who is working or studying or has a family). I highly recommended the Int'l TEFL Academy for certification in TEFL/TESOL teaching and more!

What would you improve about this program?
I would improve the emphasis on the grammar learning we come across during the course. I was under the impression we would be learning more about the speaking, listening, and reading parts of the English language but it does focus on details of grammar teaching. Detailed grammar is something I have not touched in 15 years since college and I also have never been a teacher before so, in my post-college career in Real Estate and Property Management, I wasn't exposed to deep dives into grammar. This course focuses on creating lesson plans and I found that to be my biggest challenge creating lesson plans around detailed grammar. But overall it's a very detailed and educational course, super helpful and prepares you to teach English as a second or foreign language.
