Very rewarding and program! Great for explorers and people who seek new experiences

Teaching a language is hard! I came into this course not knowing what to expect. The trainers give you all the materials to structure any language lesson, as well as job guidance for after you graduate. TEFL is very rigorous. Be prepared to come early and stay late, and bring your work home.

To a new trainee:
STAY ORGANIZED! They give you a notebook and sort your Google Drive for you!
Take breaks! This goes for everyone, everywhere, but please take a break. Don’t work for eight hours straight on a lesson plan. It’s going to suck. I would know. The simpler the better. Lesson plans should be simple and easy-to-follow.
You’re in Prague. Go out. Do stuff. Have fun!

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Teaching classes of real students made the reality of what I was doing take over. I was able to be friendly and use my sense of humor to make the classroom feel like somewhere I should be.
Pros
  • Keeps you very organized
  • Gives you lots of opportunities
  • Forces you out of your shell
Cons
  • Very long hours

An Awesome Language Course

This course taught me more about my own language than any other course I’ve ever taken. The course gave me an in-depth coverage of all aspects of teaching English as a foreign language. It also provided me with all the information and tools necessary to teach English as a foreign language anywhere in the world. I even had a chance to practice my teaching skills with adult students in 6 lessons covering grammar, vocabulary, listening, reading, speaking and writing. Now, all I need to do is keep practicing and honing my skills.

TEFL

Great course and great experience!!! Everyone is friendly and helpful (: The course was challenging and very informative! I definitely wouldn’t recommend having any weekend trips planned during this course due to the course load! you get hands on experience teaching real students levels A2/B2 which was very helpful for transitioning into teaching in real life! The course instructors are very kind and share their personal experiences and perspectives with you! The course takes place in an awesome area that is very easy to get to as well!!

the easiest way to move abroad!

The TEFL Worldwide Prague experience is similar to nothing I have done before. The course was well structured, practical, and the trainers gave incredible support from start to finish. They were knowledgeable and gave constructive feedback that really built my confidence and helped me grow as a teacher. Throughout the course, you get in the classroom teaching real students (how cool is that?!) After the course, the trainers and TEFL community go out of their way to make sure you have a job secured and point you in the right direction. I couldn’t recommend this course enough!

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
The most nerve-racking moment was the initial move to Prague. Moving to a new country is undoubtedly a nerve-racking event, but the TEFL community made it so much easier! From the moment you sign up for the course, you are getting constant help with securing accommodation, flights, and even advice on the process to start your visa. After the course starts, you begin making friends and familiarizing yourself with the city!
Pros
  • the widespread alumni community
  • the “hands on” teaching practices
  • teaching grammar to trainees!!!!
Cons
  • days sometimes feel long
  • there is a lot of work at one time
  • your life is dedicated to TEFL for 4 weeks

Guidance from instructors

The instructors of the TEFL Worldwide course provided great guidance when it came to learning how to teach English. Throughout the course, I felt supported by the staff. Feedback was given after every teaching practice, done with real students by the way, and the goal of the feedback given was to help us succeed. Overall, I think the TEFL Worldwide program was comprehensive with all the initial skills you need to start teaching English as a foreign language. The course felt very useful, especially after starting to teach.

Amazing experience

I would highly recommend TEFL Worldwide Prague. Trainers are very supportive and helpful. The course is pretty intense considering it is a 4-week crash course. Be prepared to prioritize the course during these 4 weeks and manage your time wisely. There are nights that me and my classmates would stay up past midnight to finish lesson plans, but it gets easier as you move along. It’s a lot of information, but I feel confident as a teacher now. I loved having the opportunity to teach real students and the feedback from the trainers guided me a lot. The course also gives you the opportunity to network with those in your class and connect with alumni through events which is great as someone new in Prague. I’m so happy I chose this program!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Manage your time wisely and focus on the course.
Pros
  • Making connections
  • Hands-on learning/teaching
  • Discounts at the pub downstairs for students/teachers
Cons
  • Fast paced
  • Long hours

What's not to love?

Just such an amazing opportunity, a 500 character (including spaces and punctuation) minimum isn't enough. Since starting the TEFL programme in Prague, I feel like I have become a whole new person. I had no idea that teaching English grammer could be as exciting as learning it. From the guided teaching practice, to the teaching practice that they guide you through, TEFL Worldwide Prague really gives you a feel for what teaching is like. I made several friends along the way. I only wish that I could take the course again!

An amazing and tough experience!

The TEFL Worldwide Prague experience is nothing shy of a challenging experience. It has everything you need packed into one very long month of education. I never once questioned whether they knew what they were talking about and it was very eye opening to me. It was super fun at times, others were a struggle. At the end of the day, all of my classmates and I all have our certificates and are starting to teach not even a week and a half after the course. Also, I highly recommend the Prague Beer Museum right below the school for your long nights! I highly recommend this course.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
If I did this again, I would probably not spend so much time worrying about the lessons as much as I did.
Pros
  • A ton of support from peers and teachers
  • Efficient
  • A great refresher
Cons
  • Long nights of prep
  • Distance from my flat was far
  • Early mornings to long nights after the first week

Great Course

I really enjoyed taking this course. It's an intensive four weeks, but nothing you can't handle if you come prepared to put in the work. Instructors were extremely knowledgeable and helpful, always had great advice and were very giving of their time. A lot of great resources were given during and after the course, both with pursuing the certification, then also using that certification to find work. I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking for a fun, productive place to get TEFL certified.

What was your funniest moment?
I was teaching a grammar lesson with my fellow trainees for practice one day, and totally whiffed on a part of the grammar point. It was a little embarrassing, but in laughing about it with my fellow trainees and the instructor, I learned from the mistake without beating myself up too much.

Awesome experience!

TEFL Worldwide Prague is an incredible experience. I loved the support I received before and during the course.

In short, I took the course because for my 30th birthday, I wanted to do something different with my life, so I stepped out of my comfort zone, left my life in Mexico, and began the visa application process here in the Czech Republic.

The TEFL is an intensive course; you'll have a lot of homework, but in the end, it's very rewarding!

Thank you, Tasci and April, for all the support.
:D :D :D

What was your funniest moment?
We laughed all the time, actually.
Pros
  • You get certified in 4 weeks
  • Live as a local in Prague
