Great experience!

I was getting bored of my day to day life back home and was looking for something more flexible and different than my 9 to 5. When I stumbled upon tefl worldwide Prague my life changed forever.
I’m grateful for the friends I’ve made and the experiences I’ve had. I’ve been able to travel all over the world with people from my course and new people I’ve met through work. I’m glad I was able to push myself out of my comfort zone and take the leap of faith. I can’t recommend this course more!!!

TEFL: A journey of growth and opportunity

Navigating through the month-long TEFL course proved to be both intense and exceptionally fulfilling. The meticulously crafted curriculum of the program pushed the boundaries of my teaching abilities, while the array of teaching styles presented by instructors allowed me to carve out my distinct approach. The invaluable constructive feedback offered personalized insights, honing my strengths and addressing areas for improvement. This comprehensive course not only equipped me to teach English as a second language but also fostered a profound sense of confidence in my abilities. The seamless integration of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experiences positions it as a valuable investment for aspiring educators. Coupled with the exciting prospect of future job opportunities, this course has undeniably opened doors for me to embark on a teaching journey in Prague, Czech Republic.

Very Rewarding

This course was an amazing decision I made 2.5 years ago and I have no regrets! My journey after has been amazing!
The course itself is rigorous and intense during the month but you still have the weekends to decompress.
Be ready to learn a lot in a little amount of time and be prepared for multiple ways of teaching and observing.
You work with real life students and the observes are trained professionals working in the industry with over 2 years behind them.
After the course they help you the best they can with jobs, life and connections!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Embrace your time there. It will be intense but make sure to listen to the trainers. They know what they are doing and won’t lead you down the wrong way.
Pros
  • Real life experience
  • Help after the program
  • Connections
Cons
  • Intense, but worth it
  • Long
  • Busy

Best Class

I was a part of the greatest graduating class in July 2023!! The classmates and instructors I had were so caring and fun to be around! The learning experience I gained was so invaluable for my teaching job I have now.

This course was one of the most challenging experiences I’ve ever had but in the best possible way. I made really good friends and shared so many great memories as well! Anyone who goes through this course will get their money’s worth! Excited to come back and see how everyone is doing after a year away!

Great Staff

Most of the staff was supportive. They are willing to help in any way. There was one with a bit of attitude. I did like that they always showed up to teach with a nice attitude. They made the class interesting and fun at times. There was one that I always liked it when she taught. She always had an activity to do which woke some of the students up and made that class go by faster and it just made it more interesting. The others had a great gentle way of instructing. There is one gentleman that always had an amazing lesson and it showed when it was done.

You'll be busy....but rewarded!!!

This is an outstanding course. The team of trainers and directors at TEFL are beyond supportive and knowledgeable.

As the title suggests, it is an intensive, busy month but as the title also suggests, it opens up so many doors for you to live and work all over the globe making it so worthwhile.

It teaches you so many valuable skills to become a good teacher, and if you are passionate about it, you will go along way. There are so many good resources on campus that are also available to you, should you stay and work in Prague.

I could not recommend this course and this experience highly enough.

Great experience

I'm very happy with my experience at TEFL Worldwide Prague. All of the instructors were very knowledgeable and helpful and I still have relationships with them now, months after the course. I know I could have taken a TEFL course online for less money, but there is no way that would have prepared me to walk into a real classroom like this course did. Honestly, I think the most important thing for me was the friends that I have made via this TEFL course, whether is was my classmates, alumni, or new grads that I've met since my course. Moving to a new country alone can be tough and it was great to have others around me that were in the same boat! Would definitely recommend!

Pros
  • Community
  • Curriculum
Cons
  • Poor explanation of Prague's cost of living

TEFL helped me to change my career path

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole training - it was an intense month, yet it taught me an incredible amount of skills that I am now using with my own students. The tutors provided us with many valuable resources, practical tips and though there were many things to learn, they made learning fun and enjoyable! There was also a meeting focused on getting a job, obtaining the Czech business license or the working visa in case you are from overseas. I appreciate the approach and would happily enroll again! I received my first job offers shortly after graduating and have been enjoying my teaching adventure ever since.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
I was actually able to stand up in front of a class and teach - it was a great feeling! I was a little nervous at the beginning, but it all vanished quickly - and a sense of accomplishment prevailed instead. So much can be learned within just one month! Also, it is the opposite of a corporate job and I am big fan of it!

Loved the Whole Experience

I’ll start off by saying that no amount of hours in any teaching course will fully prepare you for the first time you step in front of a class. It takes a long time to find your comfort zone when teaching english.
That being said, the TEFL Worldwide program in Prague is really a great program if you’re interested in teaching abroad. What I mentioned above was told to us by many of our instructors; each of them were very in tune with the realities of teaching, each seasoned veterans that really prepared us for what to expect when we began teaching. Whether you have prior teaching skills or you’re new to the game, you’ll walk away from this course feeling much more confident and better equipped to start teaching.
Each of the modules were very in-depth, and I won’t lie: It’s a lot of work. Obviously the first thing you’ll want to do when you get to Prague is explore the city. And explore it you must. Whether you’re planning to stay or just stopping through for the month, it truly is a magical place that sucks you in immediately. But, you’ll find a lot of your free time chewed up by work for the course. It’s not hard by any means, but more so time-consuming.
The best part of the course was the practical experience you gain throughout it. You teach actual Czech students 6 times over the course of the 4 weeks. It’s very nerve-wracking, but the instructors each give great feedback that allows you yourself to slowly start to notice improvements in each successive lesson. Not only that, these practice lessons give you a good glimpse into what it’s like to teach specifically Czech people.
What really makes the course as a whole are those you go through it with. Your class makeup will really define the overall vibe of the day-day activities. The instructors provide a great work and learning environment that favors genuine friendships with your fellow Teflers. I was lucky, our class became really close over the course of the month and we’re all still good friends. It’s sort of a “shared struggle” bond that you develop together.
Enroll in TEFL Worldwide if you want to travel abroad and teach. And if you’re thinking about doing the course for the month in Prague and then moving somewhere else with your degree (which is totally possible, the degree is internationally recognized), I wish you good luck in trying to leave Prague. Once you’re here you will fall in love with this place.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Go into it with a hustling mindset. This city works you, and you have to work with it. But there is a saying that goes: Prague always works itself out. And if there's one thing I've learned here, it's that.
