I chose TEFL Institute after researching providers online, they had come highly recommended, and I can see why! The experience has been life changing and I can't recommend them enough. Before I even signed up I was receiving support from the team, they answered all of my many questions about the program.

The 120-hour course itself is well-structured and covers the core foundations needed for teaching including, lesson planning, classroom management, teaching methodologies and student engagement. It’s self-paced, which made it easy to complete alongside my daily life. As someone new to teaching, the lesson planning and video links were particularly useful in helping me feel prepared for the classroom. While it is theory-based, it gives a very solid grounding for first-time teachers and helped me feel more confident before starting work abroad.

From Ireland to Thailand I was provided with excellent job support including documentation preparation and in-country support. This helped keep the process stress-free, especially as a first-time teacher in Thailand. Everything was very well organised, particularly when landing in Thailand, orientation, travel details, documentation and visa prep work went very smoothly.

I taught M1 and M2 students in a small city in NorthEast Thailand, it truly was a life changing experience. The locals were very welcoming and I made lifelong friendships with other teachers. I am so grateful to the internship program, I have learned so much about myself as a teacher, a traveller and the impacts I can make abroad.

Overall, I would recommend this program to anyone looking for a flexible and structured entry into teaching abroad. Again, the support of the team was reliable and dependable, I couldn't recommend them enough. Special thanks to Olivia, Lisa and Walter for their support throughout the process.

I have recently finished with the Level 5 TEFL Diploma from The TEFL Institute, and I am pleased to share that the experience and the results are better than expected.

I became an experienced online and classroom teacher with the knowledge I gained from the course materials. The course prepared me to be an effective teacher in many ways. I’m a total overthinker and get overwhelmed easily, but the team made me feel calm and supported from day one. I did the 180‑hour course, and it was super thorough and really well put together. I took the 300hr course. It took the whole 6 months to complete. I was happily surprised by the content. Each module made me think and analyse my teachings. I have gathered meaningful information and activities about different approachs to teach English.
The introduction to Teaching Business English and English for Exams have also given me a first impulse into what are required to guide learners in such courses and widen my teaching perspectives.
I definitely recommend the program for new teachers as well as those who wish to improve their teaching skills.

I chose TEFL Institute’s 180‑hour Level 5 course because it felt like the perfect balance of quality, flexibility, and real‑world support. The platform is easy to navigate, the content is clear and practical, and every module is structured so you actually feel prepared to teach. What really stood out was the post‑course service, especially working with Lisa in the jobs department. She’s proactive, fast to respond, and genuinely invested in helping you find opportunities. I also really appreciated the wellness‑focused resources and mindset support they offer, which helped me stay motivated throughout the course. Between the solid curriculum, user‑friendly platform, and warm, human support from the team, TEFL Institute has set me up for success in a way that feels supportive from enrolment through job placement.

Any interactions that I have had with those that work at TEFL have been positive and supportive. As soon as I email anyone with a question they get back to me within a day. Lisa has been one of those people that have gotten back to me quickly and given me additional options that hadn't even occurred to me which is what a great tutor does. The teacher that I had in my 10 hour methodology class was very engaging and the students were from many different backgrounds making the class more diverse and interesting.

This is a comprehensive course that added a value to my experience. Though I have experience in teaching English as a second language, I found this course valuable and mind refreshing. Above this, the certificate is credible and internationally recognised. It is really worth trying. One of the strengths of the program is its balance between theory and application. It does not remain at a purely theoretical level; instead, it encourages the practical implementation of strategies that can be directly transferred to real classroom contexts. The focus on engaging learners, adapting to different proficiency levels, and assessing student progress is particularly relevant for modern ESL/EFL teaching.

I teach Russian students to speak English. They often have strong grammar but lack vocabulary and articulation. This IELTS course has given me a clear system to build confidence and improve their speaking skills in preparation for the dreaded IELTS Exams.

The course was thorough, and I gained practical strategies that benefit both my teaching and my students.

My experience on the Thailand TEFL programme with The TEFL Institute of Ireland has genuinely been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. From the very beginning, the support, structure, and guidance made the whole process feel manageable and not overwhelming, especially as someone moving abroad alone.

The 120 hour TEFL course itself was a huge part of that. The course was very practical and realistic. It covered everything from lesson planning, classroom management, student engagement, teaching methodology, grammar, pronunciation, and classroom structure. It also focused a lot on how to manage different learning levels in one classroom, how to keep students engaged, and how to structure lessons in a way that actually works in real life, not just on paper. As someone with no teaching background, this made a massive difference for me.

It didn’t just tell me how to teach English, it taught me how to manage a classroom, how to communicate clearly, how to build confidence as a teacher, and how to handle real classroom situations. When I arrived in Thailand and stepped into my first classroom, I wasn’t confident because I “knew everything”, but I was confident because I had a foundation to work from. I understood lesson structure, behaviour management, pacing, and how to adapt when things didn’t go exactly to plan. That preparation made the transition into teaching abroad feel far less intimidating and far more manageable.

The Thailand internship itself was incredibly well organised, from the orientation week in Bangkok to school placement and ongoing support. I’ve been teaching M1 and M2 students (ages 12 to 14), living in a local area outside of tourist zones, and experiencing real Thai daily life rather than just a tourist version of the country. The cost of living has been very affordable, the salary is more than enough to live comfortably, and saving money is completely possible if that’s a goal.

The friendships I’ve made with other teachers and the kindness of the local Thai community have been a huge part of my experience. I’ve built a real life here, not just a temporary stay. Teaching in Thailand has helped me grow in confidence, independence, and self belief in ways I never expected.

I received a full support system from the TEFL team, especially Lisa who helped me with getting prepared for my Thailand adventure. The team have made teaching abroad feel accessible, achievable, and exciting rather than intimidating. I couldn’t recommend The TEFL Institute of Ireland enough to anyone even remotely considering teaching abroad.
