I feel like my experience started with my recruitment Agency: Korean Horizons. My recruiter made me feel at ease throughout the application process, and I'm not sure if I would have continued with the application otherwise. From the first skype session, to the one I had just before leaving South Africa my level of comfort was the same. Alistair answered all my questions and responded to all my emails in a timely manner. I absolutely love everything about the EPIK program and I wouldn't change anything.

The experience of being successfully placed onto the EPIK program would not have been as smooth and possible if it wasn’t for Alistair Wery. He was always helpful, kind, patient and very willing to go the extra mile to ensure that your application was of an excellent standard and that you were well prepared for the interview. He also helped with the burden of the admin process to get all the documentation submitted in time, even when the corona virus hit and there was a good chance of me not getting my visa done on time due to the shipping delay, I got my visa well on time. Entering Korea was not as stressful as Alistair made sure we had our itinerary schedule well in advance, he made sure we were picked up (waited for all of us) and checked in to our hotel so we had good rest for the orientation registration the next day. I’m already settled in my apartment and Alistair has still checked up on me to make sure if I am happy with my placement. It is very rare nowadays to find individuals such as him who genuinely wants the best for his recruits and is willing to offer support where necessary. I would highly recommend anyone who wants to apply for the EPIK program to do so through Alistair Wery, this experience has been life changing and I am so excited to see what this year of teaching will bring :)

From beginning to end... from the application process up until EPIK orientation... Alistair helped the whole way. He even stays in contact after you've signed the contract to ensure everything has been settled correctly. Having a recruiter like KH is great because of the support system and you can go to them with questions and concerns at any time. I also like the facebook groups because we, applicants, can help each other, too! I highly recommend using KH to keep on schedule and get things done ahead of time. You'll be well prepared in case things need to be rewritten or sent to far away locations.

Alistair was a huge support throughout my entire process of getting a job with EPIK. From preparing documents, to interview tips, to arriving in Korea and even once I was settled in my home, he has been consistently willing to answer any questions and provide advice. When I arrived in Korea he was there to welcome me and provided a hotel for the night before orientation started. He has gone above and beyond what I would expect a recruiter to do and I would strongly recommend anyone applying to EPIK to go through Korean Horizons.

Working with Alistair Wery from Korean Horizons was hands down the best experience I could have hoped for. From the initial conversation to the day I left on the bus for the Winter 2020 EPIK orientation, Alistair was there to not only encourage me, but to also put things into a realistic perspective. I found out just how blessed I was when I heard some of the stories from my peers during the orientation. If you are looking for someone who will be straightforward, will walk you through the process, work with you on your interview skills and still be there for you even after their mission has been completed, then you need to choose Korean Horizons.

To keep this short and sweet, Alistair was the best decision anyone can make when moving to Korea. He is super supportive and answers any and all questions, even if they are small and something you might not think is "important."
He preps you for EPIK procedures and the interview. He makes sure all of your documents are in order if they aren't, he helps point you in the right direction on how to get them fixed.
When arriving in Korea, he picked us up at the airport and provided a room to stay on the first night; and he provided a welcome bag that had a converter, map, book, and mug in it. He also makes sure that we get back to the airport to meet the EPIK staff.
He has continuously been helpful, even after getting settled here in Korea. You will not regret choosing him as your recruiter!

Alistair was there every step of the way with me through the process of applying to be an EPIK teacher. He guided me through the process with unparalleled support that I couldn't have gotten anywhere else and his continued support and dedication landed me my dream job in Seoul. He really went above and beyond from the first day I emailed him about how to apply to my first day in Incheon Airport. Could not commend Korean Horizons any stronger for being so helpful and for regularly ensuring that I was provided with the tools to succeed in my teaching endeavours.

This is my first trip going abroad to teach and it was very daunting at first. However, going through an agency such as Korean Horizons made it a seamless transition. They break everything down step-by-step which makes it fool proof. Even with the 1,000,000 questions you throw Alistair's way he finds a way to give you quick responses so you are not waiting around. I could not have imagined doing this all on my own and will only use agencies such as KH going forward.
My only negative is with the EPIK program specifically as they ignored my preferences and gave me the complete opposite of what I was looking for. I get they can't accommodate everyone but I was one of the first people accepted for this intake. There are not any other English teachers / expats within an hour of me which is pretty disappointing but at least I'm right next to the beach. Other than that, it was a great experience!

I remember weighing the pros and cons of choosing a recruiter or applying directly and honestly I’m glad I chose Korean Horizons. It’s a one man show with Alistair being an expert in the application process and guiding you/keeping you informed at each step as soon as he receives any information in your application. Interview prep was a particular highlight and made the experience much easier. Be on the ball and follow Alistair's advice and your experience will be immensely better. Good luck!
