Professional and detailed

I finished the course about a week ago and finally have time to write these guys a deserved positive review. The price is outstanding for what you get. I fully recommend the 120 hours course. Everything is fully automated from the start, which I liked because I read some places make you wait days for coursework to be returned. I didn't do the course exactly as was recommended, since I loathe reading, but I watched all the videos twice instead. I think I retook one quiz, but the content was worded clearly with review questions helping me remember most concepts. I emailed TM staff once and got a quick reply. Do I recommend it? Absolutely!

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
Pay more attention to past tenses!

I loved this course!

The format familiar in every lessons with videos and written information the same. It felt more expensive than I paid. I was always interested to study with the lessons because of the video and the review click quiz. I give full stars for everything of the options accept the after course because I think there can be more after the course job support if they ask for more money from students. But I love this course for the lessons, tutors support and how everything looks. There is a professional attractive feel on everything which I loved. I am very happy with my choice and feel good recommending teflmaster to other students.

Everything was as I expected

I finished the course after 5 weeks and am more than happy to share my positive experiences with others considering taking this or a similar online TESOL course. I looked around for a few days before deciding on this course with my decision coming down to two things: price and the number of units they offer. Other courses I found had only 8 modules, for example, though I'm sure they offer similar learning within them. I struggled to find anything cheaper that looked legitimate and accredited, though I did look carefully at their free lessons before signing up, just in case something was awry. I had no issues whatsoever from payment all the way through to receiving the PDF diplomas (which have a seal on one and scan code on another). I have no idea about their customer service beyond their cert email, which was soon after I passed the final exam (93.1% total for the course). Everything was easy and as I expected. I have nothing bad to say, though if I'd paid lots more, I'm sure I would have looked harder for faults.

Excellent for new teacher

The TEFL masters were very helpful from the start. They answer questions fastly and profesionally. Though my English is not perfect the course was easy to understand. It was quite intensive with many units and concept. However I actually enjoy it because if I don't understand a part of the video I can watch again or look up the text in the lesson. I will be happy to pay even more for this course but I am glad I do not need to. Not having to write the essay is good for me for my style of learning especially because they have some game activities and quiz that help to remember knowledge.

Hard to fault because of the price

Not everything was perfect, so this is by no means a glowing 5/5 review, but the minor annoyances or omissions weren't enough to warrant a 4/5 either. Let's get started with the good/positives (aside from the crazy-cheap price). This was a really comprehensive course with almost too much information on classroom teaching. I can't imagine everyone follows there advice in reading then watching the many videos, only to then read everything again (I certainly didn't), but each unit has hours of content. The most valuable thing for me was the real teaching videos of different age groups and countries (I think it had Korea and China) - the classroom seems much more organised than I pictured which put me at ease. The other stand out plus for me was how responsive and professional the staff were at responding to messages. I had an issue with forgetting my password, couldn't get the reset to work, but they fixed it straight off when I emailed. This is also one of the negatives, for sure - they seem to have a Telegram chat but no Facebook or Whatsapp. I have no telegram, so that wasn't helpful. Another negative, though like I say not anything to take away from the pros, is that one of their lesson flows was more like a lesson flop and crashed the pgae, meaning I had to reload and mess around a bit before the lesson page loaded again. I messaged and they said they'd remove it and clean the code or something. Really though, everything else worked well and was really easy to use. Quizzes are all multi-chice without a timer and some require watching videos. Bottom line is that this was mind blowing value - not perfect by any stretch, but amazing for the price. I've already had job offers using their certification so that's any plus in their box.

Was cynical, but shouldn't have been

They surprised me in a very good way with their detailed content and the amount of video content and other hidden inclusions. I walked away with alot more than I had anticipated and have a positive feeling about teaching abroad. My favourite part of the course was the unit on games and how to make classes more enjoyable: they give you a heap of ideas and things to consider for different learning ages, which made me reflect on my own learning style. I'm not sure what other TESOL companies offer, but this one exceeded what I thought I'd get for 30 quid

ChatGPT recommended it

ChatGPT recommended this company when I asked about an affordable English teaching certification. I agree with the recommendation because it said they have many videos, it's clear and professional, and it's affordable. I didn't have any issues, so I have no experience with the staff support, but when I finished the course, I got an email telling me when I could expect my certificates, and I received them the next morning in my email.

The best thing about the course was having videos and the questions that were built in a sequence an imagined lesson. I found these sequence lessons very interesting. I'm confused if they have up-to-date jobs or not, but for the cost, I am happy about the actual course. Thank you.

Cons
  • Seqeunced lesson questions
  • Videos
  • Little money!

Got me a pay rise without much effort

I have no complaints at all with this crew and can actually say I was a wee bit surprised at the quality of the course. From the offset, I knew it was legit and run by teachers, as they claim. I contacted the tutor a couple of times to clarify a few things I wasn't sure about in the quizzes (it turned out there had been a couple of entry errors in one of the quizzes) and they were always quick to jump on the email and reassure me. It's definitely not a perfect course, but they seem really passionate about making it perfect. Aside from a few minor mistakes, everything was class and even though I'm experienced and only took it to get a bump in pay, I walked away with a chunk of new info and loads of game ideas. Another thing I noticed was that they explained theory behind things I was already doing through experience, but it made sense and actually gave me a bit more confidence to stick to what I thought and tweak it so that I reach more of my students. Anyway, I'm waffling now. The company is a good one.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I'd take notes of the game ideas
Pros
  • The games ideas are class
  • The staff are passionate
  • The certificate has QR
Cons
  • It wasn't perfect but for that price I'm not going to be picky

Easy and professional

I will happily recommend TEFLmasters to other students who will be interested in studying online English teaching. I recommend: fast email reply, video lessons, a lot of information in every lesson, game ideas, questions asking questions in the videos that give an idea of behavior and challenge, quizzes, a certificate with a scan code. I don't like: free lesson has no quizzes to see, no chatroom to speak to other students and share ideas. In conclusion, I have learned a lot from the online course and about English.

What was your funniest moment?
No
Pros
  • Yes: professional, easy to understand, many video, nice certificate
Cons

Recommended course with value for money

The company was easy to communicate with, and the staff were friendly from the start, which all gave me a relaxed feeling that I had made the correct decision choosing them (as I was torn between a few companies like some more expensive ones and a couple of cheaper ones). Overall, this provider met my expectations for what I paid, exceeding them when I received my certificates within a day. The course has a range of easy to difficult content, but the quiz questions were generally solvable the first time with a bit of searching back through the content or re-watching the quiz videos. I can't say I 'enjoyed' studying, because it was still work, but I can say that I learned a great deal and felt prepared to go into a classroom abroad afterwards (though now that I've done it, I realize no course could ever likely thoroughly prepare a teacher!) My experience was in February, so I assume the course has not changed drastically since then!

Pros
  • Price-point
  • Friendly staff
