I really enjoyed Omeida because everyone was very warm and welcoming and my teacher, Wency, was really great. Even though my Chinese level was already very high, I felt appropriately challenged and I was heard when I expressed a desire for change in the classroom. I was also really pleased by having only 3 students in my class the first week and only 2 the second week. It was great fun and I would definitely come back to this school again!

From the landscape to the community - you cannot get any better than Yangshou. Amazing excursions to the countryside, wonderful teachers and all at a fraction of the cost you'll find in Beijing. I was torn between well advertised programs in Beijing and Omeida in Yangshou - I was so happy I choose Omeida. I was able to learn and practice while also exploring (plus easy access to western food if you are feeling the need for a comfort coffee or crepe).

I was only able to stay two weeks but everyone helped me make great use of the time to learn so much. I felt I made progress and had a lot to practice back home and for a week in Beijing.

When I sent my first e-mail to Omeida fromout the wireless Chinese jungle, 2 weeks before I wanted to start, I was immediately impressed by the elaborated response to all of my questions + a lot of other relevant information and help I had not asked for. Both before I started my studies and during my studies, the people of Omeida put a lot of effort in making my stay in Yangshuo comfortable, which helped me to settle, have fun and focus on my studies.
I believe that there are many good Chinese schools throughout China, but as far as I know Omeida distinguishes itself from these by being located in the far more quiet, rural and natural Yangshuo. What I found in Yangshuo was a village life in an amazing environment (mountains to climb, rivers to swim in within half an hour cycling). Touristy and busy, but also lively. What I found at Omeida was a mixed group of Chinese students learning English and foreign students learning Chinese, intermingling as language partners and friends at both organized and unorganized activites.
In short, Omeida is a lively school in a lively environment. I made lots of great friends and had a great experience learning from and about the Chinese, the Chinese culture and the Chinese language. I would definitely recommend anybody to go!

I only stayed 1 month in Omeida, but it was one of the most interesting and thrilling experiences of my life.

I chose Yangshuo because I thought that it could be easier to get involve in real chinese life in a small town, and I was right. I felt safe, welcomed and with a whole new world in front of me to be discovered.
And Omeida was the perfect school to complete my adventure. Excellent teachers willing to help you in every aspect of your learning process, competent staff always available, friendly colleagues to practice, and most important, chinese colleagues studying english looking forward to sharing experiences with you.

I met fantastic people for all over the world, learnt some chinese and gather amazing memories for several lifetimes :-)

The staff was very helpful. Yangshuo is a great place to learn Chinese but do not want to spend hours commuting in a polluted city to get anywhere. I met a lot of other very friendly students, with whom I often went out in the evenings or for excursions (bike riding in the beautiful countryside) on the weekends. The school also has an English section, and you can have language exchanges with the students there. Whether you have more contact with them will depend on you and your language partner.
I have already booked another course there!

After finishing my short-term contract in a hotel, I decided to leave Spain for three months in order to learn some mandarin (my biological parents language). That was my first adventure out of home; and alone! I was quite scared of what would I find in a place with such a different culture and language and which wasn't popular as big crowded cities like Shanghai or Beijing. After coming back I can just say one thing: that was the best choice I could have ever done :) I came across with amazing teachers, amazing people and amazing surroundings (not amazing weather, though). Teachers will become your friends as well as your language partner and other people from all over the world who is having the same experience as you. I will definitely repeat it and hope to be back there within a year!!

- I have been to Omeida twice, the first time I studied for one week, the second time, I studied for one month. Both times I was satisfied fully. Yangshuo is an amazing place, and Omeida helped me appreciate it. The food is not bad and you can chose your accommodation from living with a roomate in the dormitory to a private accommodation.

Omedia Language College is set in the beautiful landscape of Yangshou Karst mountain peaks. The staff and students are very helpful and friendly. Most weekends are packed full of fun and adventure. You can easily make friends and the students can help you practice your Chinese. The lessons are great and the teachers are adaptable to your learning needs.

I started studying Chinese with a survival Chinese course in April 2010. It was a great experience, and it let me decide to continue studying Chinese at Omeida. In the meantime I've been to Yangshuo (Guilin) more than ten times. Teacher's teaching method and patience have helped me to pass the Chinese proficiency exam HSK 3, and my next challenge is HSK 4. I'm very glad to have found this academy, and I'll not stop learning there. The beautiful environment, friendly and helpful teachers and Omeida staff, all this let me feel happy when being there. At the same time I've known more about Chinese culture and way of life. Calligraphy courses, learning Chinese songs, how to prepare Chinese tea, paper cutting, and much more is offered - of course at no addtitional fee.

I spent 2 weeks in Yangshuo at Omeida and it was really a very good time. I will for sure come back there. All the teachers are qualified, very friendly and helpful. I can say that during those two weeks we really became friends. There were a lot of opportinities to speak chinese: not only during classes but also in the afternoon and in the evening. The school gave me not only simple chinese classes but I also had the opportunity to learn a lot about Chinese culture, Chinese food, Chinese way of living. Two years ago I studied Chinese in one of Beijings schools - there is nothing to compare. Omeida winns in all aspects.
