About Program

The 2015 season will focus on excavations at three sites located less than half a mile away from Teyuna – Ciudad Perdida's core area – connected to it via a flagstone paved pathway (Sites G-1, G-2, and B-201). It is also highly probable that we may conduct survey work at a site located 2 miles upriver from Ciudad Perdida known as “Tigres”. Their role vis á vis the larger city is unclear, and thus excavation work is meant to complement architectural and spatial data gathered during the last field season. Targeted excavation is designed to aid us in understanding the construction sequence and function of these sites, which are to date, poorly understood. For more information visit the field school website.

Awe Inspiring

The Ciudad Perdida field school is without a doubt one of the the best experiences I have ever had. The field school not only gives students the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of field work from a truly amazing staff but also provids a setting unlike any other. The location offers a true taste of extremely remote, off grid archeological work. Add to this the chance to learn about an amazing culture both past and present and it provides a unique life changing experience for any who may be brave enough to attend.
