About Program
Spend the summer in the captivating city of Stellenbosch, South Africa. Earn up to 7 credits through a variety of courses at the University of Stellenbosch. Courses are taught in English.
This unique academic program introduces students to the health care system in South Africa, covering themes in disease, malnutrition, poverty, and mental and psychosocial health. The course uses readings, presentations and experiential learning, and students have the opportunity to enhance their learning with exposure to local health care facilities.
Live in the modern and well-appointed University Student Residence. You’ll enjoy cultural and social activities such as sporting events, beach excursions, trips to local craft and food markets, and hiking trips. AIFS includes a 3-day trip to the beautiful West Coast National Park, and an optional 6-day excursion along the famous Garden Route.
