About Program

Spend four weeks in sunny Valencia, Spain, improving your Spanish and experiencing the Mediterranean lifestyle.
Through Expanish’s Summer Sessions, students earn 6 U.S. credits by enrolling in an intensive Spanish language course with 24 hours of class per week. Taught entirely in Spanish, the program offers a fast-paced path to language proficiency and cultural immersion.

Outside the classroom, enjoy local activities like a traditional paella cooking class, beach days, city tours, and guided visits to top landmarks like the City of Arts and Sciences.

Choose housing that fits your style—from homestays with local families to shared student apartments or modern residences. Yes, I recommend this program

Great experience!

The experience has been great so far and I think I'm learning a lot as well. While I wasn't a complete beginner when I started, living, studying and learning in an environment that speaks Spanish has definitely helped my comprehension tons. (It's actually mediodificil a recordar English words for this comment). And the staff is always all smiles - it really helps a lot :)

It was a bit difficult at first to speak spanish all day, but Expanish really helped me get into the habit. That's the biggest strength.

What would you improve about this program?
Generally it has been exactly what I expected from it, which is to say pretty comfortable to phase into. At times though, it can feel a bit repetitive and slow, especially while learning the verb tenses. While I realize that is something that comes with language learning in general, maybe a little more structure to classes could make it better.

Estoy muy contento con Expanish. Mi profesora es excelente. Ella es, al mismo tiempo, exigente y amable.

Las clases son interesantes y muy dinamicas. El director y la secretaria Vilma son muy atenden muy bien los estudiantes.

What would you improve about this program?
No permitir que los estudiantes hablen su idioma en el espacio de Expanish. Esto porque hay muchos brasilenos estudiando aca.

I had a great time in expanish, with a lot of fun, great people! Lionel is a realy good teacher and my spanish now is so much better. The volunteer as well was a good experience! Muchas gracias!

What would you improve about this program?
All the staff is realy friendly, helpfull. There are good teachers and a good programm. Buenos Aires it's a great city, with a lot of things to do. It's the perfect place to spend some time in a school. Also a lot of activites you can do through the school, it's realy good

What is your favorite travel memory?

I was meeting up with my husband in Brussels after we both had work trips, and I had a whole day just to myself. I ended up going alone to the Musical Instruments Museum on the recommendation of a friend and had one of the best museum experiences of my life. 
 

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

Most definitely! My work has exposed me to people from all around the world and allowed me to visit dozens of countries. It has made me a more global citizen and a more open and understanding person. My role has changed a lot of the last 15 years and I have also changed a lot as a person in the same time.
 

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

I love the love stories. Benefitting from a successful study abroad love story myself, I am amazed at how many students find that special someone while abroad and try to make the relationship work. We have a few students who have decided to live abroad as adults because of the relationships they created while studying.
 

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I would go to our summer program in Costa Rica! Since I have to promote the program with our partners, I have fallen in love with the country even though I have never been there myself. I would love to have an extended time there and explore all the amazing places the country has to offer. Pura vida!
 

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

I love that Expanish is a smaller organization and we focus on the Spanish-speaking world. It means that we can really provide amazing experiences in Spain and Latin America and be experts in our field. I also think the fact that all of our staff are on-site where we operate is helpful to both our students and our partners. Being able to say "hola" to students in Buenos Aires in person is amazing.
 

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I think the people who work at a company are what make it great. Our students do not love our programs because of the locations or because of their cool housing options, but rather because of how great their program advisors are before arrival, how friendly the staff at the airport receiving them are, and how supportive our teams are on site to help students during programming.
