About Program

Saint Louis University offers U.S. students the opportunity to earn their university degrees in Spain.

Its Madrid Campus offers a unique set of distinctly international, accredited programs in Business, Communication, International Relations, and Psychology, which students can complete in their entirety in Spain. In addition, students may spend anywhere from one to six semesters taking courses that fulfill degree requirements for almost all of the University’s 100 undergraduate academic programs, including those in Engineering and Health Sciences.

Students study in English, but perfect their Spanish through service learning, internship opportunities and immersion into Madrid’s vibrant culture. They also become part of a multicultural community of roughly 700 students, with representatives from over 65 countries around the world. These students thrive in the international educational environment offered by an American university in Spain.

At SLU-Madrid, you can complete coursework for nearly 100 different degree programs offered by Saint Louis University. This includes non-traditional study abroad fields such as engineering and nursing.

More than just a classroom in a foreign city, SLU-Madrid is a four-year college campus with modern facilities. Our buildings house a library, auditorium, bookstore, computer labs, science and engineering labs, student lounges, full-service cafeteria, classrooms and rooftop terrace.

Madrid is home to some of the world’s finest museums, palaces and monuments. In Madrid, the old world meets 21st-century elegance.

Spain offers much more than flamenco and bullfights: it's awhirl with cultural opportunities and events, both day and night. There's always something to do or see: open-air markets, concerts, Holy Week processions, street festivals and all-night clubs.

Great host family experience, now fluent in Spanish, lived in safe neighborhood, school is beautiful and very helpful. Lots of American students, whether they were permanent or studying abroad. Spent a lot of money on food in Madrid because the cafeteria at the school was bad. If you want to live alone, also good apartments near the school.

What would you improve about this program?

Teach more courses in Spanish and less in English.
