MIIS: MA in TESOL, MA in Teaching Foreign Language
- United States of America
About Program
The master's programs in language teaching at the Monterey Institute are internationally recognized for the expertise and professional activities of the faculty, the high quality of the students, and the excellence of the curriculum. Students enrolled in our programs may pursue one of three master's degrees: MA in TESOL, MA in Teaching Foreign Language, or the Peace Corps Master's Int'l TESOL. Full-time faculty members work closely with master's candidates as mentors and colleagues. Small class size facilitates close interaction, allowing for the exchange of career-related knowledge and creative teaching techniques. The program emphasizes the integration of pedagogy and practice, and the theories and research that underlie pedagogy. Throughout the program, students examine their own educational beliefs and practices, comparing them to what they are learning in the classroom and insights gained from their research. The culmination in the Applied Linguistics and Practicum Capstones.
