My experience

Last September 2023, I completed my TEFL program that was offered by TEFL PRO Prague. I am glad I chose this company, which is lead by Petra, who is clearly a very supportive and kind CEO. TEFL PRO Prague was recommended to me by a visa company based in Prague, owned and managed by American expats, VisaForce. I was very impressed by the comprehensive curriculum, the dedicated instructors and the practical teaching opportunities. This program definitely exceeded my expectations in every way.
The post-program support offered by TEFL PRO Prague is commendable. The school provides ongoing resources, job placement assistance, and professional development opportunities. This continuous support demonstrates the school's commitment to the success of its graduates beyond the completion of the program.
I highly recommend TEFL PRO Prague!

TEFL Pro Prague

I really enjoyed my time with TEFL Pro Prague. The course was comprehensive and the staff members were lovely. TELF PRO Prague was super helpful in every aspect of your life in Prague. Whether is it job searching, visa issue, or accommodation. You would end up building close relationships with your peers through this course and make new friends! Unforgettable experience! Highly Recommend!

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I would put myself out there even more and talk to more people, and make more friends.
Pros
  • Very comprehensive course
  • Assistance with visa, job search and accommodation
  • Make friends through the program
Cons
  • The course could be longer because there was a lot of content to cover. But overall doable!
  • More teaching practice incorporated into the course would be great

Tope tier course in a beautiful town

A massively helpful/ professional course that is perfect for launching a new career as an English teacher. Job/Visa assistance provided and a very helpful and friendly staff! A must for anyone who is considering moving to this beautiful city. I was able to learn about a skill I already posessed and is marketable (Speaking English) and also learned there is a massive market in teaching people of every age and demographic. By speaking English, I am already qualified to find work in Prague and needed no further background or experiance. Bravo TEFL Pro!

Pros
  • Wonderful course, people, city
  • Plenty of jobs and work to be found
  • Further understanding on a language that I already speak

Tefl Prague

I would recommend Tefl Prague to anyone who is interested in travel and teaching English abroad. It’s an experience you won’t regret! The staff are very helpful and it’s a great way to develop your skills and meet new friends. The course is quite intense but it’s a great experience and prepares you for the experience of being a teacher. Prague is also a wonderful city and right in the heart of Europe so it is a good place to live. I have had a great time on the course and made lifelong friends. Staff from the course also support you to find a job.

Pros
  • It’s a great opportunity to travel, develop your skills and meet new people
Cons
  • It is hard work so it’s important to be committed to wanting to become a teacher. It’s also quite expensive for the first couple of months

Absolutely wonderful

Hands down the best TEFL course to go though if you're looking for hands-on, opportunistic, and welcoming new start in Prague. Everyone at TEFL PRO Prague genuinely cares about your well-being and success and they strive to go above and beyond for you. They help you with your visas and they go out of their way to secure you teaching jobs at various locations, which was incredible. The staff they have on board though TEFL PRO Prague were all amazing and shaped me into a great teacher. They would connect you with so many people which were all willing to help you in any way they could. I have never felt so taken care of by a course before. I had a lot of fun and learned so much from the people here and I would highly recommend this course to everyone.

Pros
  • Gained knowledge and friends
  • Had work lined up
  • Had help with rent and visas

Tefl course 2020

It was a lovely idea to take the tefl course in another country which was Prague and get to study and live in the midst of its culture. The course itself was intense but luckily you can share your thoughts and experiences with your classmates & teachers.
I would recommend before coming over to definitly look over English grammar to give yourself a headstart so the lessons as not as daunting, (as there is alot to retain in 4 weeks).A great country to visit and study in & hopefully find work in!!

What would you improve about this program?
I would possibly make it a 6 week course as there is alot of content in it and with the teaching practise ontop of that extra hours/days might be needed.

A Great Program that Eases your Introduction to Prague

I took the TeflProPrague TEFL course with the intention of remaining in Prague to teach. It is also possible of course to take the certificate earned here and apply what you've learned to ESL programs worldwide. My course was a great experience, and it really starts with all the support the school provides, in addition to the (excellent) instruction of the course itself. Petra, the school coordinator, arranged accommodation for me during the program, and put me in touch with a Prague relocation-service that covered all the aspects of settling in the Czech Republic to teach. Petra is well-connected in the ESL community in Prague, and was able to provide letters of interest from employers, including contracts of employment, by the time we had completed the course. Naturally, this is great relief when trying to settle all the practical affairs of moving to a new city, a new country...!

The course itself is a bit daunting, but with focus and application on the part of the student it is manageable. I never realized just how much goes into ESL instruction, how many different facets of the enterprise there are to master! I was fortunate that I was taking the course during an off-peak period (September), since my class was scheduled for just four students, including myself. Petra's instructors set high expectations, and they also introduced me to the potential range of what ESL instruction can encompass. Sean gave us a rigorous introduction to the essential Skills & Systems methodology for conducting any class, Gwyneth took us into the field for a few practice classes & gave us a lot of great advice for refining our teaching technique, and we spent our class time with Dany surveying and sampling the myriad manner of ways we can incorporate games into our teaching practice. Finally, Stephanie was there to help us hammer out our lesson plans for our weekend teaching-practice (and to share with us some survival Czech!) Really, there was so much content that the course could have run for weeks longer - but the main focus of the course is to prepare you to go into the classroom to teach, and it is actually there, by applying everything you learn with TeflProPrague, that you can really internalize all the material that the course introduces you to.

A note about the grammar portion of the course: English language grammar is a very rich and complicated subject, and it is not possible to cover it all in a course like this. But all of the instructors devote some time to teaching grammar, and they focus their instruction on those areas (parts of speech, tenses, modals, conditionals) which are typically of the greatest usefulness in ESL instruction. For those planning to stay to teach in Prague, there is also discussion of the characteristic grammar problems that Czech native speakers have.

All told, I had a great experience getting my TEFL certificate with TeflProPrague. Everyone I worked with in the program is wonderful (and don't miss the Quiz nights hosted by Dany, at the Globe bar in the Center of Prague!), and it was the right choice for those crucial first few months that I was settling in, in Prague.

What would you improve about this program?
The course could have involved covering more challenging aspects of English grammar, but for new teachers it is more important to place emphasis on the art(s) of teaching, so in the end I think TeflProPrague struck the right balance.

I couldn't have asked for a better TEFL course

This TEFL course was a fantastic experience. The coordinators not only prepared me for my role as a teacher, but really helped me to settle into my new life in Prague quickly and easily. The classes are small and practical, so that everyone gets individual attention and their needs met. The course is very well organised and thorough, and it allows you to begin your teaching practise during the course which is a tremendous help. After completing the course I started working in Prague straight away, teaching students of all levels and ages, and I haven't looked back! I'm truly grateful for this experience and would recommend it to anyone looking to move to Prague.
