However, BFITS seamlessly facilitated this process, ensuring that I could focus my energy on what mattered most – delivering quality education to my students. Work with BFITS

I had the opportunity to work with BFITS, and it has been nothing short of an incredible journey. From the moment I joined their team, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism, setting the tone for an enriching experience that I will cherish forever.

One of the most striking aspects of BFITS is its commitment to providing a supportive and nurturing environment for its employees. From the first day of orientation, it was evident that the organization genuinely cares about the growth and well-being of its teachers. The training sessions were comprehensive, equipping us with the necessary skills to excel in the classroom and make a positive impact on our students' lives.

The teaching resources and materials provided by BFITS are top-notch, making lesson planning a breeze. Whether it's interactive presentations, multimedia content, or educational games, these resources enabled me to engage my students effectively and enhance their learning experience. This, combined with the freedom to tailor lessons to suit individual student needs, made teaching a rewarding and enjoyable process.

Moreover, the staff at BFITS, both at the head office and in schools, were always there to offer guidance and support. Any concerns or questions were addressed promptly, fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie among teachers. The sense of teamwork and collaboration was truly uplifting, making me feel like an integral part of the BFITS family.

Furthermore, BFITS' dedication to creating a dynamic and diverse learning environment is commendable. The exposure to various cultures and teaching styles not only enriched my own understanding but also allowed me to learn from my colleagues and grow as an educator. The cross-cultural experience was undoubtedly one of the highlights of working with BFITS.

Another standout feature of BFITS is its focus on professional development. Regular workshops, training sessions, and feedback assessments were conducted to help teachers continuously improve their teaching skills. This emphasis on growth and improvement not only benefited us as educators but also had a positive impact on the overall learning experience of our students.

Lastly, I cannot overlook the level of appreciation and recognition that BFITS showed to its employees. Whether it was a simple thank-you note or acknowledgment for a job well done, these gestures boosted morale and made us feel valued as part of the organization.

In conclusion, working with BFITS has been an immensely gratifying experience. The support, resources, and opportunities for personal and professional growth provided by BFITS have truly exceeded my expectations. I can wholeheartedly recommend BFITS to any educator seeking a rewarding and fulfilling teaching journey. Thank you, BFITS, for making my time with you unforgettable!

BEWARE working in Thailand

In general Thailand is a dangerous place to work. There is no rule of law, no enforceable contact no guarantees of anything like getting your salary.
The fact that so many reviews are impressed with the fact they got paid is a warning by itself.
This company is not and exception to this rule. The advantage teacher lasts 3 months, up to 50% turnover a semester and over 100% a year.
That happens for a reason. There is no teaching in Thailand. Students cannot fail a class, cannot be considered cheating, do not have to do homework.
There is only one measure of your performance, that is are people entertained by you.
For this reason they are no trained professional teachers in Thailand because teaching is not allowed.
Being paid once a month means people are waiting for their $800 then disappear the next day. Companies will expect you to do this.

Teach Abroad With BFITS!

BFITS is an awesome company to work for! BFITS equip their students with the necessary language skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing for effective communication. In addition, they teach essential learning skills of literacy, numeracy and technological capability through the study of English, Science, Mathematics and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). BFITS prepare students to be globally competitive. They shape future leaders and success stories by cultivating real-world skills through a comprehensive curriculum and modern instruction by quality teachers.

I had the privilege of becoming one of their English teachers. This opening has lead to new opportunities that have impacted me physically and emotionally. For example, since becoming a teacher, I have taught over 152 beautiful Thai students and was blessed to interact with them daily. All the love that has been shown from these beautiful Thai students has really uplifted my spirit. If you are thinking of becoming a teacher abroad, I would definitely recommend BFITS!

What would you improve about this program?
In my opinion, there is nothing to improve. I love every moment of my experience with this company. Any time I have needed help, BFITS have gone above and beyond to make sure all was well with me. BFITS is more than a company, it is a FAMILY!

Perfect Mix of Awesome and Awful

I worked for BFITS for two years. I was stationed to teach kindergarten in Buriram, Thailand. Teaching in Thailand has been a mostly positive experience. I love the kids in Thailand, they were my favorite part about working here. They are sweet, bright, and lively. Teachers are well respected in Thailand by their students, and communities. BFITS helped a lot with the daunting VISA and work permit process. BFITS offers help with finding housing
accommodations, and my head teacher and office manager were helpful with figuring out other day-to-day things. If you are not a qualified teacher, BFITS generally has a higher beginning salary than most other companies I’ve seen. BFITS is an established company, they were always reliable with fulfilling their contract agreements, and payed on time. The paid vacation was really nice, and I was able to travel when school wasn’t in session.

Working in a foreign country can be both enlightening and challenging. Thai schools are often unorganized and chaotic. Schedules get changed on a whim, and sometimes I felt like my free time was not being respected. You have to learn to go with the flow or it will be a hard adjustment. Foreign teachers are a status symbol for the school, and you will often be asked to do things outside of your teaching duties to “promote” the school. There were times when I felt like more of an ornament than a teacher.

I think that BFITS might be the best fit for someone who wants to experience a new place and who wants to get some classroom experience. I do not think BFITS was meant for career teachers. With that being said, my school, BFITS included, had a pretty high turnover rate which upset me. I hope that anyone who does choose to work at ANY school can commit to at least a year of time, for the sake of the kids. Their education is important and they deserve consistency. This is a real job with real responsibilities, not a temp position to fund a backpacking trip.

Living in Thailand is a mix of awesome and awful. I have been in the smaller city of Buriram. My living accommodations are nice. I managed to find an apartment with a separate kitchen space, which is not the norm in Thailand. I purchased a motorbike to ride to around town and learned how to drive it. In retrospect I maybe would have looked for job in a busier city. After two years in Buriram, I am ready to move on. However, I am thankful for my time here, and feel that my experience has been meaningful. Thailand has taught me to be brave. I am no longer scared of the unknown or to travel by myself to a foreign place.

If I had any helpful advice for future BFITS teachers, it would be to leave your ethnocentric views at home. You need to do your research and make sure that both teaching and Thailand are the right fit for you - before you commit.

What would you improve about this program?
In my experience, BFITS has done an okay job of maintaining and negotiating job duties between Thai schools and foreign teachers. It can't be an easy task. I wish BFITS offered more recognition for those of us that took the job seriously. It was pretty clear to me that no one in upper management had a clue what I did in my day-to-day activities. I also think BFITS management could learn the value of asking their employees nicely to complete tasks, instead of forcing them upon us. They would get a much better response.

Suankularb Wittalayai Review

Overall my experience teaching at Suankularb was very good. The students were very respectful and a pleasure to teach. The ACE program within the school is very isolated, in that I only communicated with the teachers inside the program, and never with any Thai teachers or staff. The benefit of this is that you tend to have clearer lines of communication, but it comes at the cost of a more authentic Thai teaching experience.

As for the living conditions my apartment was located in Bang Sue which was a 45 minute ferry ride to work which was relatively convenient but the location is very far from downtown Bangkok. Furthermore I was told the apsrtment would be fully furnished but it did not include a: fridge, stove, microwave, or washing machine. While it was doable to live with it these one would expect them paying a higher rent living in Bangkok and being told it would come fully furnished.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
My advice to future travellers would be to start small within your community. You will have big aspirations for exploring a big city like Bangkok and Thailand in general which you can absolutely achieve in due time, but I would recommend getting familiar with your immediate surroundings to find a good restaurant you can frequent or a coffee shop you can visit to get out of the house and read. Small things like this can help you overcome culture shock and difficulties that may make you feel like the walls are closing in when things inevitably don’t go your way in a foreign country.
