Teach in Thailand with Travelgrad!

Travel grad have been amazing and supportive from start to finish, from me doing the TEFL course pre-covid, to securing my placement and landing in Thailand a few weeks ago.

They provided step by step instructions/guidance regarding any and all issues or questions with the application process, including VISA information, TEFL instructions, Legal docs, placement etc. (all the confusing stuff). All applicant documents/deadlines were super organised and we were kept up to date with exactly what had to be submitted when and where.

Andrew has been so helpful throughout and genuinely wants the best for you, you're always welcome to drop him a message about anything, he provided one-on-one advice throughout the application and he always responds incredibly quickly and at all hours of the day! Especially considering many covid related issues, Andrew and Travelgrad could not have made the Thailand application process easier.

I've already had so many amazing new experiences and seen some crazy things. As a first time teacher, I am so excited to be living and working in Thailand!

Pros
  • Consistent one-on-one support
  • Thorough guidance throughout application
  • Networking with fellow applicants
Cons
  • Some things last minute

Teach with TravelGrad!

Cannot recommend Andrew and TravelGrad enough! After some covid related issues I had to change programme and Andrew couldn’t have made the whole process any better! He’s given so much help pre and post departure to Thailand at quite literally all hours of the day. I’m staying on for a 2nd Semester and this is partly due to knowing I will receive so much support from the TravelGrad team. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to my friends and I will continue to use their services in the future. Andrew, you’re a legend!!🤩

Travel Grad / Thailand 2021-2022

Thoroughly glad I did it. Travel Grad are a genuine, down to earth & trustworthy company. Super dedicated and helpful throughout a difficult and complicated covid period as well. They helped me change, free of charge to Thailand from China due to late covid changes.

The experience was fantastic, the country is as beautiful and crazy as it is made out to be, with so much to do, Thailand is huge! Lots of friendly, like minded graduates there too.

Work life is very relaxed compared to the UK with free time during the day too. The students and the teachers are fascinated by you (especially if you’re 6’4), always wanting to talk and take photos with you or of you.

The pay is great locally, and cost of living is incredibly cheap, my beautiful accommodation was £60 a month & I rented a brand new motorbike for £60 a month, a tank of fuel is £2…. I did almost everything I wanted to do in Thailand and was actually able to save around £1600 over 4 months!

Would recommend to anyone as a gap year & would certainly recommend going anywhere with Travel-grad, they will take good care of you!

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
I lived in ban kruat, buriram, as i asked for the most authentic / rural / ‘real Thailand’ experience I could get.

I would wake up and go to the local market where there was 2 actual shops (a small 7-11 & a ‘Lotus’).

Sometimes I would go, and like you or I would jump on a bike, or in a car to grab some milk or bread…. There was a man who would ride his elephant to the shop.

The elephant would be ‘parked up’ next to the motorbikes patiently waiting outside for him to get his sandwich, no one batted an eyelid.

He would nonchalantly jump back on with his bag of snacks and ride his elephant home like it was just another day

Best experience

Nearly finished with my first semester and I've renewed for another! I love it so much and the support from Travelgrad has been so so fab. So exciting to be on the other side of the world and teaching but also able to visit so many other areas on weekends and made some friends for life. So far I've been able to travel to Pattaya, Khon Kaen, Koh Chang, Phuket and a lot of weekends in Bangkok. All of this alongside being in a more rural town where I can experience a more authentic experience. Would recommend to everyone!

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
It's a bit nerve wracking as a vegetarian in a new country where you don't speak the language BUT it's been easier than i thought, so sometimes end up with weird stuff though, including a plateful of deep fried leaves

TEFL in Thailand!

TravelGrad were so helpful in finding our placement and supporting us through the placement. The consistent support was truly invaluable. Thailand is the best country to teach in because of so many things; for example, the teaching environment is so fun, the schools are so helpful, the food is delicious, and I’ve met so many great friends! I am so grateful for this life changing experience. I could not recommend travel grad enough for their constant support both before and during my time here in Thailand!

What was your funniest moment?
Karaoke! It was so silly and fun - but I really loved it

Friendly and helpful experience

The travel grad team were so helpful in getting me to thailand, especially during covid. They helped me with the visa application, certificate of entry - and support has been ongoing throughout. My experience here has been amazing And couldn’t have been done without the help of the travel grad team. Can’t recommend teaching in thailand enough, especially to a first timer! Teaching was a completely new experience for me yet I had so much support around me that I felt completely calm and have thoroughly enjoyed the whole process.

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
Insects on Khaosan road! There was lots of choice!

First Time TEFL In Thailand

I am about to complete my first semester of teaching English in Thailand and I cannot overstate the amazing experiences I have had. The low cost of living combined with my weekends spent travelling Thailand have been some of the best months of my life! I have also loved teaching the students and seeing their level of English improve week by week. TravelGrad has offered unrivalled support every step of the way and answered any questions or concerns I had prior to leaving as well as throughout my placement.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
People in Thailand will travel with anything and everything on motorbikes, including dogs! 🐶🐶🐶

Life changing experience

I found TravelGrad online while searching for TEFL opportunities. Andrew was a delight and always a message away to answer questions or reassure you when you might have doubts. He’s experienced teaching abroad for many years so knew exactly what we were going through.

Teaching English in a remote part of Thailand is a life changing experience, you’re welcomed into people homes and embrace local culture and cuisine. The memories and friends that I’ve made here I will treasure for many years to come

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
There’s many different types of insects you can buy alive or dead at street markets!
