I’d looked at a few other TEFL courses before this one, but they seemed a bit thin on content. The TEFL Institute’s Level 5 is the real deal. In my experience, the modules are incredibly detailed, especially the ones on teaching grammar to young learners.

My assessor, Laura, was amazing. Her feedback was always prompt and encouraging, but she also pushed me to think more critically about my lesson plans. I now understand why certain activities work, not just how to do them. It feels like a true professional qualification.

Overall, great value for money for such a detailed and well-presented course. The team was very engaging, helpful, and ready to respond to any questions that I had throughout, which was a period of around 7 months. I want to thank Jenny in particular for being very helpful when I was getting towards the end of my course. Marking was done fast, and I eventually have my certificate. Additionally, I like that additional courses can be included, bundled as I chose to do. Marking was faster than expected, which was a nice surprise.

After completing my Level 5 qualification, the job search felt daunting. But Jess from the employability team was an absolute legend. She didn't just send a generic list of job sites; she became my personal recruitment advisor. We had a call where she went through my CV line by line, tailoring it for the competitive TEFL market in Japan.

She flagged specific employers she knew had a good reputation. Thanks to her guidance, I secured three interviews within two weeks. Their reputation for job placement is well-deserved. Truly comprehensive support from start to finish.

Support was there throughout, either by phone or e-mail, and the response was very good in terms of real-time and help. Technological issues were explained, and after some initial struggle, I was able to make faster, more enjoyable progress. In particular, Anya, Laura, and Jenny were very helpful and gave guidance and support around working issues and quizzes, and assessment advice. Regarding the latter, I was worried over the referencing format required, having not studied for some time previously, though I was informed promptly and accurately, allowing me to continue.

You might think the support ends when you get your certificate, but it doesn't. I graduated three months ago and just had a question about adapting my CV for the Middle Eastern market. I reached out to Jess in the employability office, and she got back to me the next day with specific advice and resources.
