Price Details
The 120 hour course costs 45,000 THB, about 1,350 US dollars or 1,000 pounds depending on the exchange rate. A 20,000 THB deposit reserves your place and the balance is paid under the booking terms. The fee covers the training, course materials, classroom observations, six observed lessons, trainer feedback and the certificate. Course outings are part of the programme, including a Bangkok cultural walking tour with a local guide and a Thai cooking class. Accommodation is not included, and we help you find a room near the centre to suit your budget. Current dates and payment options are on the dates and fees page of our website.

About Program

Essential TEFL has trained English teachers in Bangkok since 2007. The 120 hour course runs over four weeks at our centre five minutes' walk from Lat Phrao MRT, with classes capped at 15.

Teaching practice is the core of the course. You teach six observed lessons to real students in Thai schools, with trainer feedback on each one. The syllabus covers lesson planning, classroom management, grammar, pronunciation and young learners.

You finish with a 120 hour TQUK approved TEFL certificate issued through Kidsangsan Language School, approved by the Thai Ministry of Education. The TQUK Level 5 Certificate in TEFL, regulated by Ofqual, is a separate course at 50,000 THB.

Graduates who meet school requirements get CV preparation, interview guidance and introductions to schools through Essential Educational Staffing, our own recruitment agency.

Courses start every month. The next start is 16 November 2026. The fee is 45,000 THB with a 20,000 THB deposit. Applicants must be aged 22 to 60. A degree is not required to enrol but is normally needed for a work permit.

Applying to Essential TEFL course in Bangkok was like hitting the jackpot for teaching English! If you are looking to break into TEFL, this course is your golden ticket. From the get go, the training was all about real teaching skills, no fluff, all stuff! The staff were super supportive, always ready to help you nail down those teaching techniques and make sure you are classroom ready.

What's cooler? After the course, I landed a gig at a popular kindergarten in Bangkok, thanks to their solid job placement program. I spent two awesome years there, teaching everything from Arts and Crafts to Science, Math, and of course, English. The school was amazing, super supportive, and the perfect place to apply all I learned. It was also a 5 minute walk from a Central Bangkok BTS station.

The facilities at the TEFL course were top and networking with peers and pros gave me a serious edge in the education sector. If you are all about living and teaching in an exciting city while getting the best TEFL training, this course has your name on it!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Pack your bags and get ready to TEACH because the Essential TEFL course in Bangkok is like a real ride of learning and living in Bangkok is a wild adventure! My top tip? Jump into everything headfirst with a big smile. Really dig into the course and soak up all the cool stuff Bangkok has to offer. It is more than just classrooms and textbooks. It’s a whole lively city to explore! And, oh! Don’t forget to stash some local snacks in your bag. They are not just yummy, they are perfect for making new pals.

Best Investment for New Teachers!

Jumping into the Essential TEFL course in Bangkok was like diving into the deep end—scary at first, but totally worth it! The first time I stood in front of a classroom, it was a mix of butterflies and 'wow, this is real!' I was teaching students from all over the world, which was as cool as it was challenging. But, thanks to heaps of prep work and super supportive instructors, I started to find my groove and actually enjoyed it.

One of the coolest days was 'Cultural Teaching Day'—imagine a day where everyone shares bits of their home through English lessons. It was a blast and really spiced up the learning vibe. Plus, the course was packed with all the nitty-gritty stuff you need to know to become a boss at teaching English, so I felt ready to tackle just about anything in the classroom.
Now, let’s talk location! super, super handy! The school's just a 10-minute stroll from the Lat Phrao subway station, making it easy to zip around Bangkok. Yes, the area gets a tad crowded and the workload can get intense, but that’s just part of the adventure. Sure, the job market in Bangkok is competitive, but with the skills I picked up, I was ready to stand out.
All in all, signing up for this TEFL course was one of my best decisions, educational and fun, with a dash of Bangkok’s hustle and bustle.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
The most nerve racking moment for me was the first time I had to teach a class as part of my practical training. Facing a room full of students expecting to learn English was daunting. However, I overcame this by thoroughly preparing my lesson plans and utilising the teaching techniques taught during the course. The supportive feedback from my instructors and peers also played a crucial role in boosting my confidence.
