Volunteer in Cambodia with Globe Aware

Video and Photos

Globe Aware Volunteers will work in the area of Siem Reap where they will work hand in hand on a variety of projects. They will teach English to young people including to monks and in the Buddhism Association School. They will be able to provide the community with an invaluable skill of practicing pronunciation.

Our volunteers will also be working closely with the Street Children’s Center that brings children in from off of the street and helps give them a better life. Many of the children are victims of prostitution or are drug addicts and the center is set in place to give the children a way out and another alternative. Many of the population have also been injured in landmines and have debilitating diseases. It is the job of the volunteers to assemble and distribute wheelchairs to these disabled villagers.

The work projects were very meaningful. Not only did they provide me the insight to the Cambodian culture, I was able to help with the various projects we were assigned. It really was inspirational. There was a good balance of free time and work. The best part was being in the villages, helping with projects and teaching. It was a life changing opportunity and I am very grateful to have participated. I will most likely volunteer again.
