About Program
The aim of this project is to monitor populations of fauna species, mainly vertebrates, to help develop accurate species lists and population density reports which will be used to inform future conservation decisions.
Activities include, but are not restricted to:
Walk along transects during two hours in the morning and in the evening making annotations of all vertebrates encountered: bird/mammal/amphibians, reptiles.
Record GIS coordinates of species reported
Set up and check camera traps for mammal activity
Monitor mammal and parrot feeding sites usage
Enter the data into a database
Create outputs, such as distribution maps of species that are threatened of extinction.

Program Impact
This programme is particularly beneficial for those interested in biodiversity conservation and tropical ecology. The monitoring work undertaken provides participants with great field work experience on monitoring biodiversity. Furthermore, the work undertaken is part biodiversity studies that help inform inform policy measures.
