About Program

Help us protect our beaches, rescue animals, keep the ocean clean, save endangered giant sea turtles from extinction, bring our amazing ocean reefs back to life and enjoy all this wonderful nature as we surf in one of South America's favorite surfing locations!

Many thousands of whales, sea turtles, other marine mammals, and more than 1 million seabirds die each year from ocean pollution! Join passionate surfers who want to preserve their surf spots and the ocean they love to enjoy so much. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn all about surfing, the precious marine wildlife of the pacific coast and Ecuadorian life in a place with an amazing vibe!

A typical day involves project work in the morning followed by an afternoon of surfing and learning tricks from local South American competition winners. The evenings are yours to relax and enjoy the barbecue at camp, soak in the dazzling sunset & stargaze on the beach next to a campfire. El surf con objeto (surfing with a purpose).

This program is currently not being promoted on Go Overseas by its provider. Check with NGO Taxi for the most up-to-date information regarding the status of this program.

Program Impact

This project aims to rescue and rehabilitate seabirds, sea turtles, whales, and other marine life that has been affected by pollution - the goal is to release animals back into their natural habitats. We also work to strengthen the bond between the environment and surrounding communities through education about the danger and prevention of plastic pollution.
