About Program

As a year-long volunteer (YLV), you’ll be assigned a project based on your experience and passions. This project will fall under one or a few of the following categories:
- Preventative Health, Psychology, Promotion of Rights
- Food Security & Nutrition,
- Entrepreneurial Ventures/Economy
- Community + Environment + Mother Earth
- Pastoral (spiritual accompaniment)
- Communication (social media, print, etc.)

Our program accepts interested parties that are a) college graduates or b) have an equivalent work experience. Any persons interested must be able to speak and understand the Spanish language at a professional working proficiency. Your year of service will be from September through the following September.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.
