About Program
Balkan Sunflowers has been effectively working with minority groups in Kosovo for the last ten years. In 2008, Balkan Sunflowers launched the Learning Centres Network (LCN). This educational program is now running in four locations near Prishtina, (Fushe Kosova/Kosovo Polje, Gracanica, Plemetina and Shtime). Each centre provides Preschool, Homework Help, Language Club, Peer Tutoring and Community Outreach programs to a total of over 500 children aged between 5 and 12 everyday. The projects goal is to support the learning of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian children so that they are able to participate on an equal footing with their Serbian and Albanian peers in the school system.
