About Program

India is always been famous for its culture, tradition, language and cuisine. Different culture, dress code, language and cooking style made the country like a continent! While volunteering in these camps, youth can have chance to interact with the East Indian (Bengali) culture and food habits. Volunteers and local family together exchange the culture and tradition. Volunteers would have a chance to learn Indian yoga & meditation basic lesion during this camp. Youth volunteers have golden opportunity to know about the ethnic heritage of East Indian cuisine and tradition. Bring friendship and learn each other culture while helping poor children as a part of their voluntary service is the target of the camp.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.

Excellent Volunteer Program in India

My experience with Smile in Kolkata was simply amazing... I have been warmly welcomed and I felt at home my all stay ! The family is so kind and will help you with whatever you need. The house is very clean and the food excellent. You will have the opportunity to live and experience real yoga, and have the best advices ! Finally, the time with the kids was so wonderful... You will teach and have play time with them... All kids were so cute and gave so much love... For me, it has been life changing !

Yoga Meditation and Community Service

Great experience while volunteering in India. Wonderful yoga teacher, very peaceful place , away from the hustle and bustle of the city center. Must recommend to all . Living with the local host and helping the community children are the plus for this project. I always had a dream of learning yoga from Indian yoga teacher and finally I am happy to fulfill my dream. Life was scattered earlier but after this experience I found myself more motivated with happy soul and mind. If I find time , I definitely like to join the session again in future.

Pros
  • great yoga experience
  • delicious Indian food
  • authentic place
Cons
  • Crowdy city Centre
  • summer is humid
  • life is challenging
