Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.

Childcare Project with STEP Beyond Borders

I have done volunteering with STEP Beyond Borders in India in the month of June and July. Before coming to India, I had a long discussion with STEP Beyond Borders team and they clarified all my doubts and questions. Team members came for the airport pickup, they helped me getting a local sim card and also explained me details during orientation. Later, team helped me in making the project plan and they also helped me overall. I would like to certainly visit India again after my experience. Just with this note, I would like to request others not to fear before coming to India. People are nice here and things are not as we see negatively in social media or in news

Volunteering with STEP beyond borders

Hi, I am from USA and my experience with STEP beyond borders was really amazing. I am happy for the community that I served as a volunteer. I was kind of not very much prepared as a volunteer but other volunteers and team of STEP beyond borders helped me in doing my work and now I realise all went very well. I am taking back good memories from here. Before coming to India many people told me about different things but what I realised is YOU SHOULD TRY ONCE!! I am happy to be back again and I highly recommend everyone to come and experience best of opportunity in Incredible India with these people. They also have some cultural activities which would be kind of fun for you all like wearing Sari(Indian dress for females) LOL or doing yoga in India
