Volunteer Opportunities Nepal with ViN

I was a volunteer with VIN for 2 months, and it was the most incredible experience for me. The staff at VIN was always there for me when needed, and they listened to my suggestions, which made me feel truly involved in the project. Additionally, the accommodations they recommended in the Okhaldhunga area were very comfortable and safe.

I went there for the DRR program (Disaster Risk Reduction). I used to go from school to school to raise awareness about natural disasters such as earthquakes, landslides, wildfires, ...
I highly recommend it!

I was a volunteer for an internship in Journalism in VIN, I have been in Kathmandu and Nishankhe, a small village in the Everest Area. More than that I was also helping other volunteers ans teaching dance class for the children in the village.
This experience is the best experience I have ever had. I recommend everybody to go there as volunteer, or intern. Nepalese are so amazing, and welcoming, and obviously Nepal is such a beautiful country especially in the mountains area.

I was volunteer for a month with VIN and I am so grateful. I did the osteopathy project and all the staff helped us with such enthusiasm! What we have done, the people we have met, everything were amazing there. We used to walk to village and village to help them by osteopathy session and improve their daily life. This country is so beautiful and the people deserve to be helped.You make a difference by choosing VIN. You are not just a volunteer, you are part of the Nepali community. I volunteered for VIN in 2019-2020, and I have great memories of it. I discovered a team that was both committed and friendly, working on field projects that directly contributed to the well-being of marginalized populations. I was based 10km from Kathmandu, in Tarakeshwore, where I helped develop the Child Development program. I had the opportunity to audit schools sponsored by the organization and to interact with the community (teachers, children, women, and villagers in general). I wish my mission could have been longer! It was a personally and professionally enriching experience, thanks to both the VIN team and the international volunteers I met along the way.

I had the chance to be part of a VIN volunteering medical program in the end of 2021 . As a medical worker, it has been one of the most rewarding and meaningful experience ! I learned so much from this community, this country both professionally and personally .

For 2 Weeks, my cousin and I worked as marketing advisor and artistic director. We had to give VIN's a new breath & visibility so more volunteers would be able to help in their hard work. Collaborating with them was a great experience, even if our time was short considering the amount of work on the social medias and most of all on the new website. We did our best to deliver the right things so the team would be able to appropriate their new skills. Our stay was really nice, even considering the sanitary situation that left many beds empty, we had the chance to share great moments with the team and most of all with Dinesh and it's family, those moments will be unforgettable.
The VIN's headquarters in Katmandu are really good and the garden is really pleasant. As said above, we wish we could to extend our stay to help them more but home was calling.
This experience was great and the team is gold.

Hi, I am Bachelor student in Journalism from Belgium. I did a 5 week long internship in the Women Empowerment and Film and Documentary making project. I loved every moment of it!

Everyday I enjoyed my one hour walk to Tinpipple to take pictures of women and their products. The views are beautiful and the people are lovely. I have worked on a project that gives women from marginalised backgrounds the opportunity to set up their own online business. Not a single day passed with me not wanting to go to ‘work’. I was motivated to see and listen to what the women had to tell me. Although it was not always simple to communicate, language isn’t the only means of communication.

It was also a great opportunity for me to practice my journalistic skills. Not only the contact with the local community and the culture, but also patience, flexibility and independence are important. I grew throughout my internships, and this wouldn’t be possible without the friendly and loving staff, and the way Nepali people can give with heart and soul. I feel like even as an intern, I was able to give something, for everything that these 5 weeks gave me!

I would love to return in the future and work on another project.
