Join us in Panama this AUGUST 2-9, 2026 for our OPEN-EXCHANGE! Become a Dance Diplomat and join a global community dedicated to sustainable dance education through service learning. Movement Exchange invites you to Panama for a cross-cultural dance exchange rooted in community impact. You will facilitate dance workshops for youth in partner community centers, contributing to a model that sustains year-round dance education led by local Panamanian teachers. This reciprocal exchange also includes training with professional Panamanian artists in styles like Folkloric, Breakin', and Salsa, ensuring a deep connection with the local arts scene. You’ll participate in seminars on cultural sensitivity, immerse yourself in the traditions of the indigenous Emberá community, and explore the historic streets of Casco Viejo, and other historic sites. Program Impact
By joining a cross-cultural dance exchange with Movement Exchange, you become part of a model that provides sustainable dance education led by local Panamanian teachers year-round. As a Dance Diplomat, you will facilitate 10–15 hours of movement workshops for youth ages 5–14 who lack consistent access to the arts. Your impact is deepened through a reciprocal cultural exchange. You will train with local professionals to learn regional dance styles and spend an immersive day with the Emberá indigenous community, gaining an understanding of their music, dance, and arts traditions. You will gain leadership experience in international service learning, navigate teaching across languages, and build the global roots necessary to make a lasting impact both in Panama and your own community.
