GoBeyond Peru: Sacred Valley Service

I was tediously making through my Junior year when I suddenly realized that I have made it all the way from September to March, and summer was just less than 3 months away! And it got me thinking: what new&fun things would I like to do for this upcoming summer. I knew I wanted to do traveling and also explore the art of serving. As I was searching online, GoBeyond stood out to me the most because of their orderliness and the beauty of their vision to offer students the incredible opportunities to transform communities and environment by hands-on projects that we would be intimately a part of. While GoBeyond also offer the social and fun aspects of the trip that perfect the well-rounded trip.

It turned out even better than the vision of the trip! I had tons of fun with my teammates and the staff, and got to know people form all over the country and the foreign leaders. More importantly, I was able to contribute to serve various local communities, schools, and villages, where we built fences, bricks, and painted murals using our own hands and feet. It is a great feeling! It truly made a unique and ireplacable impact on my life.

Very organized and professional. Gives kids just the right amount of independence. I am very confident by now, after 4 trips, that kids are in good hands and will have life-changing experiences. This latest experience in Peru, was everything we hoped for. Highlights are the cool group of kids, the close interaction with the people they went to help, and the food. my daughter came back really loving the culture and with a new found respect and generosity for those who are less fortunate. Everything we were hoping for came to fruition.

Additionally I made a lot of friends, and stepped outside of my comfort zone. I enjoyed the structure and the energy of the trip.
