About Program

THIS SPECIALLY DESIGNED AND EXCLUSIVELY PACKAGED EXPEDITION PROJECT COMBINES THE MOST ETHICAL AND SUCCESSFUL WILDLIFE CONSERVATION PROJECTS WE HAVE VISITED.

1 to 8 weeks with airport pick-ups and drop-offs every week. This package includes a never before Wildlife Conservation Partnership including 1 to 8 weeks at 5 different exceptional wildlife conservation projects in Southern Africa.

OUR ROADTRIPS FOCUS ON SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY & CONSERVATION PROJECTS, INSPIRING TOWNS & PEOPLE, AND HOSPITALITY PARTNERS THAT SUPPORT THEIR LOCAL COMMUNITIES.

This program is currently not being promoted on Go Overseas by its provider. Check with The EXPEDITION Project for the most up-to-date information regarding the status of this program.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.

Program Impact

Since 2011 we have travelled 36535km (22701miles) by road across South Africa, visited 353 towns & 155 projects, connected with 4,012 people, been supported by 405 hospitality partners and local businesses and we have planted an average of 1 tree per expedition day. The goal is to meet and understand the challenges communities face. We then connect projects, communities, ideas and individuals with each other, share their successes and help take them one step further with contacts, expertise and funding.
As a social enterprise we are unique in our community partnerships and project spending. Our expeditions have a responsible travel ethos and include charity donations and several forms of community support, carbon offset via tree plantings and local business partnerships. Where your money goes is very important to us.
