About Program
A 2 week hands on conservation volunteer program covering 2 unique conservation areas in the Zululand & Maputaland regions of South Africa and within one of the official biodiversity Hot Spots on Earth.
Participants have the unique opportunity to contribute to the conservation of endangered &threatened species by doing practical fieldwork that will make a difference. We explore Tembe Elephant Park, one of SA’s true wild Big 5 parks, & at Kosi Bay we learn about 700 year old sustainable fishing traditions & SA's most remote and pristine coastal ecosystems.
Program includes a variety of research projects using scientific methodology to assist the park's wildlife & vegetation management such as: rhino monitoring, camera trap surveys, game population monitoring & black rhino browse availability surveys.
Additional activities such as gamedrives & bushwalks provide a broader appreciation & knowledge of bird, mammal, insect identification which will enhance the experience.
