About Program

Zanzibar Internship and Volunteering Organization (ZIVO) connects international students, graduates, and volunteers with meaningful opportunities across Zanzibar. We collaborate with local NGOs, schools, healthcare facilities, community projects, and businesses to provide impactful internships and volunteer placements that promote cultural exchange and sustainable development.

What makes ZIVO unique is our strong local network, personalized support, and commitment to creating experiences that benefit both participants and host communities. We assist with placement matching, accommodation, orientation, and ongoing support to ensure a rewarding and professional experience in Zanzibar.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.
