About Program

KATz Volunteer Adventure has been working closely with NGO's, care homes & School's in the Arusha and Meru Districts of Tanzania since 2009. In the last 6 years KATz has welcomed hundreds of volunteers through their guesthouse doors, each person arriving with their own thoughts and ideas and leaving with heavy hearts and lifelong friendships. KATz founder/director Jodie and her Tanzanian husband Kelvin work tirelessly on the ground to ensure each volunteer is well cared for and that their experience in Africa is one that will be cherished a lifetime. KATz programmes have been specifically established, placing great emphasis on the development and wellbeing of the community so that volunteers are able to make a meaningful contribution. Team KATz believes that local customs and traditions are an extremely important part of the beautiful Tanzanian culture and ensure they work in ways that are respectful & understanding of the local way of life.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.
