About Program

This volunteering is for those who are passionate about technology and eager to share their skills with youth and OpenmindProjects in Southeast Asia.

A typical day for an IT volunteer at the Openmind Projects center begins with a focus on either teaching or development. In the morning, you will be teaching coding at the center or working on IT development projects, based on what has been agreed upon for your tasks. Your work as a volunteer starts on weekdays.

In the afternoon, the focus shifts to more teaching, where you will instruct students on coding, IT backend, or other IT-related subjects. In addition to teaching, you may contribute your skills by developing IT solutions, providing website and IT support, creating engaging learning materials, and delivering online lessons. A significant part of the work also involves contributing to the OpenSkills online platform.

Program Highlights

  • Get a free Cross-cultural and Volunteer Workshop, Letter of Recommendation, and an Official Volunteer Certificate.
  • Contribute to sustainable development by helping break the cycle of poverty.
  • Immerse yourself in a new culture and build meaningful friendships.
  • Gain practical teaching experience in a supportive environment.
  • Create a lasting impact by inspiring students and trainees to pursue their goals.

Program Impact

Become an IT Volunteer and Make an Impact
Share your IT expertise to empower young people. Whether you're developing technical solutions, building websites, or creating online lessons, your skills can make a real difference. You can also contribute to our OpenSkills platform, a free, game-based learning environment for technology and job skills. Beyond technical tasks, you can be a mentor, inspiring the next generation and showing them the positive power of technology and education. We welcome both online and onsite volunteers, so you can participate from anywhere in the world.

What You'll Gain
Volunteering is a chance for personal and professional growth. You'll gain practical experience by applying your IT skills to a real-world, non-profit setting. You'll also build confidence, forge meaningful connections, and gain new perspectives through cross-cultural exchange. We offer comprehensive support throughout your journey, and for onsite volunteers, we also provide affordable accommodation and meals.
