About Program
Join Maru Action Development Foundation also known as Maru Foundation in Kasese, western Uganda, for a practical community-led volunteering experience rooted in local priorities. Volunteers work alongside local leaders, farmers, schools, young people, women’s groups and Maru Foundation staff on activities related to climate resilience, environmental restoration, inclusive WASH, sustainable livelihoods, youth empowerment and community development.
Your role is shaped around your skills, interests and the needs of ongoing community initiatives rather than a one-size-fits-all volunteer package. You will spend time in communities, learn from local knowledge and contribute practical skills while experiencing everyday life in the Rwenzori region.
We welcome volunteers who come ready to listen, learn, share and work respectfully with communities.
