About Program
Recreational services are a key component of childcare and development. The United Nations Convention on the Right of a Child illustrates the right of the child to rest, leisure, play, recreational activities, cultural life and the arts (Article 31). Recreational services infrastructure has drastically collapsed over the past decade in Zimbabwe. Children are left trapped in risky environments for the access of basic recreational services. International volunteers who join us in this program have a rare opportunity to engage with children through innovative indoor and outdoor play sessions. In this program, volunteers will plan indoor and outdoor play activities together with our local team. We make use of traditional games as well as locally available resources to developing play equipment.
International volunteers will work with children aged 5 to 15 years of age and youth between the ages 16 to 25 through both play and educational support.
