About Program

Hibiscus Travel & Volunteer has provided meaningful and cost-effective programs to more than 5,000 people for over 5 years in Costa Rica. We have supported over 200 unique projects in the country, and counting.

With our Service Learning & Spanish Abroad Program, participants have the opportunity to learn Spanish in Costa Rica while participating in international community service. You'll be able to put to use your Spanish learning at your service site.

Participants can choose their Spanish lessons classroom type - be it group, private or combination classes - while partaking in weekly Social Responsibility, Environmental Conservation and/or Animal Welfare projects, based on local needs. All of these, however, promise the same ever-lasting impact not only for the communities, but also for all those who joins us during their long-term holidays.

This program is currently not being promoted on Go Overseas by its provider. Check with Osa Institute for the most up-to-date information regarding the status of this program.

I loved my experience here and truly felt one in the community. I really loved my experience at OSA and the spanish cooking lessons and spanish dancing and the whole conservation part really helped me build a rapport and better the community. I really loved the teaching aspect of this whole experience and really studying abroad, I truly made long time friends and really made an impact here in Costa Rica, and the research aspect helped me a lot and truly want to use my experience here and take it back with me to the states and to the Middle East.
