About Program

This 28-week program is an accelerated, practical immersion course, which offers a unique pathway from training to employment in the outdoor industry. It offers an unparalleled combination of training, qualifications and mentored transition from practitioner to leader, and then to instructor, with quality outdoor industry experience.

If you are looking to become an experienced and qualified outdoor guide or instructor, this is the perfect program for you. You will be trained by Pure Explorations' experienced instructors and make your way through training, shadow instructing and NZOIA Assessments.

You will come out of the program with your NZOIA Bush 1 and NZOIA Rock 1 qualifications (industry-recognised), and you will have an extensive logbook and experience to excel in the outdoor industry.

Sustainability

Sustainability is one of the four core components of each Pure Exploration program, where we provide students with the environment to learn about local environmental issues, how to travel sustainably and have them think deeply about their impact and what they can do in their daily lives to affect change.

Ethical Impact

We make a conscious decision to partner with suppliers who are passionate about our students' participation and involvement with them being of a positive benefit to the community.
