Life changing experience. Would recommend to anyone and everyone. Learned a lot and gained a lot of new life skills (most mental ;). Made a bunch of new friends. Did things I never thought I would do. Saw the most amazing things. 10 out of 10 would definetly gap year hete again.

Amazing staff and accomodation. Great chef; makes verrrryy nicd burgers. Would go back for one of those bad boys alone.

More than just a Gap Year program

I joined the Warriors Acadamy in 2019 for the 4th quest, and it was by far the best 2 months of the year. In just 7 weeks we hiked down the wild coast, paddled the orange river, skydived, bungee jumped and went kloofing. Through all these adventures the warrior's group welcomed me into their family even though they had known each other since the beginning of the year and I had only just met them. The Warriors Acadamy is such a unique program, I can not express to you the amount of positive impact it leaves on the students that attend and for that reason I'm going back in 2020 to do another quest or two.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
The most surprising thing that we did was get up close with a giant heard of rhinos. After a rigorous challenge called survival, the facilitators treated us to a private tour at a rhino farm. There we watched as they fed the rhinos and their young so close to us that we could practically touch them. The facilitators were so kind as to treat us to an experience so few get to witness.

Warriors adventure tour

This was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. Every day promised something new and exciting. From walking on fire to jumping off of a 70m high cliff. This tour teaches you that you can do anything you set your mind to. There are so many things to recount I can barely think 😂. We ate mopani worms and took chocolate shots (instant diabetes). There was also a cuddle puddle every night in one of the tents. I really loved it, I made so many new friends.
I’m definitely coming back next year. We were such a positive group through tour the entire trip. We supported each other and I created relationships with people that I will never forget. The facilitators and guides were great and they really made you feel at ease, they helped you face your fears!

The most exilhirsting journey

The most exilhirsting journey making amazing friendships and bonds. Absolutely loved stepping out of my comfort zone and pushing my limits. I absolutely will always stay with je theoughout the rest of my lifetime and the fun that i had is unfirgettable. The camping and positive attitudes was definately thr best energy one could ever surround themselves with. All of the activities teach one to become the best person they can possibly be and it teaches one how to handle situations in real life. We even kissed a hippo how amazing is that. We walked on coals and caving as well as long hiking trips learnong new food types. The best experience for me had to be making the entire trip with new friends and growing together and creating these unbelievably strong bonds.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Has got to be jumping off of a bridge and into the abys below.

Conquered my fears

The last 6 days I’ve conquered more fears that I could in a year, the children I went with, we became very close very quick. The facilitators we also grown close with and loved to hear the stories from them. This camp also made me appreciate the things back home. We also experienced African culture and foods, kissing and feeding a hippo, riding an elephant, caving through old gold mines, hiking along with an awesome bumslide. We also did awesome exercises like obstacle courses, jogging and swimming. On the driving we also saw a rhino, and how many people can say that? . After all this it was a bittersweet moment, with not seeing my new friends again but excited to see the family again. Thank you for the love, care, gratitude and support, had best time ever!

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
When I did the bridge swing, my nerves were out of control but I conquered my fears and came back with a huge smile.

Warriors

Everyone who went on this tour loved it , it created new friendships and close bonds . All of us learned so much and enjoyed all the fun the tour guides are awesome people. We really learned how to work as a team. We did a lot of team building cooking exercises it was so fun we all enjoyed preparing the food , cooking it ,presenting it and of course we all definitely enjoyed eating it. We closely interacted with elephants . We had so much fun we walked over coals. We jumped down a 60 meter swing and down a 30meter bridge. We went through an amazing hike in the mountain to reach the waterfalls which was incredible and also rainy so we did not get too hot. We also completed a militarily obstacle course and we visited and actually kissed a hippo which is a once in a life time experience so I would highly recommend it this tour (I still remember those chocolate shots we had) and the best part it that all of us get treated as adults and equals

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
I would recommend you pick in warm clothes and rain proof coats it may be rainy

New friends, great experience

I learnt so many new things! I made the best of friends with both the councilors and other peers. I am definitely one for adventure but helping others was my favorite part! Everyday was a new adventure and a great experience. There wasn’t a single moment that I was board and I am an extremely busy person. We jumped of of bridges and cliffs. We kissed a hippo, I ate a worm. We climbed a lot of hill’s and rock climbing. We made food. I made to new best friends with who made me smile everyday! We went down a bum slide. I stubbed my toe at least 19 times a day but then again I am very clumsy. We had shots of chocolate. We saw an endangered species witch was a black rhino. We were constantly wet due to bad weather. We had a big cuddle puddle with all of the students.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
Making friends with in the first 10 minutes. Always smiling never sleeping great cuddles. Singing in the bus. Not dying.
