Brazil: Soccer & Social Change
- Brazil
- São Paulo
About Program
Kick off your summer as you land in Brazil, known for its natural beauty, diverse cultures, and national soccer team, which has won the FIFA World Cup five times. In São Paulo, you will learn and practice soccer skills through training clinics as you play with local teams comprising high school students. You will also learn about Brazil’s community development efforts by visiting local nonprofit organizations that are utilizing soccer as a tool for change to influence youth and promote education throughout the country. You and your group will complete a community service project that further supports these goals.
Become part of a Brazilian family during your homestay in Monte Alegre do Sul, a town nestled within the Mantiqueira mountain range. You will take basic Portuguese language classes and practice your new skills over homecooked meals or while playing soccer with your host siblings. A Brazilian coach will begin teaching you soccer fundamentals.
