Study abroad trip

My study abroad experience in Madrid was unforgettable. I loved exploring the city, learning about their Spanish culture, trying new foods, and most importantly meeting amazing people. The experience helped me become more independent, confident, and opened minded. The friendships and memories I made will always have a special place in my heart. I’m so grateful I had this amazing opportunity to experience Madrid and would recommend studying abroad to anyone who gets that opportunity! Best memories.

What was your funniest moment?
One of the funniest moments from my study abroad experience happened on our way to class. My roommate and I were rushing through the metro station when out of nowhere she missed a step and fell going up the stairs. I didn’t know whether to help her or laugh because it was out of nowhere. Thankfully she was okay and people helped her get up, not me though, I was tu busy laughing. Definitely not what we expected to happen in our morning, but it became one of our funniest memories.

Studying abroad with CIEE

Studying abroad in Spain as a high school student was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. I had the opportunity to immerse myself in a new culture, improve my Spanish, meet amazing people, and become more independent. Living with a host family allowed me to experience everyday life in Spain and practice speaking Spanish outside the classroom. Although being away from home was challenging at times, it pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me grow as a person. I made friendships and memories that I will cherish forever. I would highly recommend studying abroad to any high school student who wants to experience a different culture, gain confidence, and see the world from a new perspective. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
