Global Reef Internship With Intern Abroad HQ

As a marine biology student living somewhere landlocked, I do programs during the summer to gain much needed field experience. This internship was by far the best one I’ve done by miles. Everything we did was for a purpose. It was scientific, research based, and educational. I learned so much that will be useful as I go into my career. Beyond that, there is still a great sense of independence, and it was amazing to explore Thailand. Intern Abroad HQ was wonderful and super helpful while preparing for the internship. My coordinator was fantastic and easy to contact!

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
While scuba diving, we saw a whale shark! It was an amazing experience that I didn’t think would happen since people who have been diving there for much longer hadn’t seen one. I was only there for a month, but I guess our team had good luck.
