People are friendly and interesting

I am Thomas Mentzer. For my 2 months of internship I came with 3 of my classmates from my school: Robin, Ismael, and Martin. They are not only my classmates but they are also my friends.
When I arrived at the airport in Palermo, I was shocked because people are lazy. They are so cool as if they never work.
The man that picked us from the airport to the apartment didn’t speak any word in English. Furthermore, when I arrived at Balestrate, I saw a beautiful view of the beach. In Balestrate, life is very different than the other city of Italia, it is poorer and I think that people work for when they want.
The apartment is also very good where we live because we have a lot of places to chill comfortably.
I feel very good here because people are very interested: for example, the boss of the restaurant next to our apartment is very friendly. Whenever we go in front of the restaurant, they say to us « hello » and if we reply, the conversation can last for 2 hours.
Moreover, life is cheaper than in France. In fact, In France, a packet of a cigarette is 8 euros and in Balestrate it is 5 euros. The difference is so big. I think that this internship helped me a lot to improve my English, I learned a little bit of Italian too and also I will improve some skills in prospection.
In the future, I think I am going to come back when I will be 40 years old for holidays with my future family to chill comfortably at the beach and to do nothing but rest.

I will keep very good memories of my internship in Sicily

I’m Gueham Rayan, I’m 19 and I’m from Lycée Albert Schweitzer in Mulhouse. I discovered very nice people in the company but also in the city. Since our arrival here, we have carried out several activities. For example, we went to Patinico to discover a new culture, visit some old monuments and meet original people. Thanks to Piero, we can do football training and we will also play a match against the Balestrate team. We participate in English lessons with Natalia, who is really a very nice person and a very good teacher too. I really like the food in Balestrate but there is no halal food, so I have to eat pizza every day. The landscapes are really beautiful, I had never seen Italy before but it is really a beautiful place. I learned a few words in Italian during my internship (prego, grazié, Pesca...) Piero Tuzzo helps us a lot, he organized an excursion with the company "Levante sea experience", I think it will be pleasant. I will keep very good memories of my internship in Sicily. I'm probably thinking of coming back to Italy.

My first impression about Sicily was great

I am Robin Mistré, I was selected for an internship in the company STSicily. I came to Sicily for the first time on 15th June 2018 for the Internship and I stayed in Sicily for 2 months. My job during the internship consists of prospecting for the company STSicily which is managed by Piero Tuzzo.
The reception in Sicily and the accommodation was very good. I lived with my classmates Ismael Martin and Thomas. My first impression of Sicily was very positive. I particularly appreciated the setting of the country as well as its weather. The first contact with the Sicilians was very friendly. I sympathized with several Sicilians including the managers of a restaurant named Yuppi. I started to discover Sicilian gastronomy thanks to them but also many other people I met. I also became friends with Vito, a fruit and vegetable merchant, which allows me to buy quality products in a good mood every day. Vito speaks a little German which allows me to discover new words in English, German or Italian. I am also happy to be in Sicily because I am a seafood lover and I can eat seafood and different quality fish because they come directly from the sea.
The fact that prices in Sicily are also lower t increases my purchasing power and therefore allows me to consume more which is very appreciated.
I hope to work in Sicily with the beautiful landscape and for perfecting my English and why not have some knowledge of Italian. I also appreciate the fact that several activities are proposed. I also have the impression that Sicily is full of treasures and that several activities are possible. We also discovered the different beaches in Balestrate. The fact of having the possibility of having a vehicle at our disposal to be able to discover the island is very appreciated.
From the work point of view, I have the impression that spirit is to train us to manage and develop a business. The professional approach of the internship seems to be one of the best means to progress in professional training.
The only fear I have is that I will not progress in English because only a few Sicilians speak English.

I will remember this experience all my life

I am Adrien Rauch, I am French, I come from Mulhouse in Elsass, it is a region next to Germany. If we talk about my environment I’m actually in a house with 5 friends in Balestrate, and there are other french people who live in Balestrate in different houses. We have been to Palermo to visit the city and take dinner and the city was beautiful like his history. In Balestrate we currently go to the beach in the afternoon and in the evening we go to the bar. Once a week we have an English course to learn more about the language. The Italian people are very chill and life here is very less expensive than France. The landscape is beautiful with a view of the sea. Three times in the week we go training us to the football stadium of Balestrate, and 24 June we are gonna play against the club of Balestrate. I will remember this experience all my life because it was very interesting to do it and the mission of prospection and the people here was very great.

Good Experience in Sicily

I am SIMON Olivia and I am a french student of the High Scool Jean-Baptiste Colbert in Thionville. I knew that this experience will be a great opportunity for me. I said that because I can ameliorate my language, especially my English and my Italian. You speak with a lot of people and you discover a lot of think, as a new culture, a new country, new food, and others think. The life in Sicily is really different from that life in France. We discover some specialties like arancini, pasta, fish, typical ice cream, who are really good here and not really expensive. A think who is really beautiful here is the sea, she is really good and not really far from the house where we are living.

Lots of activities and sightseeing's during the camp.

My name is Matthieu Gasser. I am 19 years old and I am a student of international trade. I come from the Lycée Albert Schweitzer. I was selected to do an internship for two months in Balestrate, Sicily. For my internship, I worked for a company in Alcamo that is Adragna Pet food. I used to go there with Pierro’s car.
Pierro Tuzzo organized different activities for us like excursions to Palermo to visit the capital of Sicily, excursion with a boat on the sea, another one with a little train to visit little cities around Balestrate and discover some Sicilian culture. We were also invited to some parties in the city. Also, he managed for us some time for football training in the Football stadium of Balestrate to play a game against the team of Balestrate at the end of the internship.
Things that I like are the very nice sea, the weather and the food ( especially Cannoli I will miss them). People are friendly and open-minded. We met some other students who come from other parts of the world. We used to go out with them and create some goods relations with them. We learned some words in Italian with the people who are working in restaurants and bars. The accommodation was well located in the city near the beach, close to the supermarket, restaurants, and bars. The Sicilian lifestyle is different.
During the internship even if a lot of things are good I can say that I missed my family, my friends, my house and my country a lot because the life in Sicily is very different even if I like the Sicilian lifestyle I can’t live here for the rest of my life.
Finally, I am thankful to Pierro Tuzzo for this good experience and this good internship. I think that I will come back to Italy in a few years.

This internship is a good experience to have more confidence

My name is Nolween Clopeau , I’m 19 years old and I’m from Lycée Silvia Monfort in Luisant in France. this internship is a good experience to have more confidence et learn foreign languages, for example, Italian and English. For me, Sicily is very different from France: The climate is different, it’s very hot in June. Life is a little bit different, more relaxed. But the Sicilian people are very nice and fondly. During my internship, I saw too a lot of landscapes and I visited a lot of cities as Segesta with his beautiful temple, Castellammare where I did a boat excursion with my family. Palermo with I did a lot of shopping with my colleagues and I visited theater, harbor and the city in general. Erice my favorite city, is very beautiful. This city is on the mountains so when we are in the city we can see all the landscape and the city of Trapani. With my company, I have the chance to visit Partinico and participate in the seafood party where I meet a lot of people like the mayor and I will maybe see the Etna. The landscapes are different from France but very nice to visit because we can learn more in the Sicilian culture and the Sicilian history. But the cook is nice: I have the opportunity to eat big pizza, the best pasta and very good ice cream. And more with my company I have the chance to realize an interview on the RAI ( the big TV channel in Italia) to explaining my Sicilian experience.

Overall i found this experience really useful

I am Emir Redzovic, I’m a french student from the lycée Alber Schweitzer in Mulhouse. The job was great, the people in the company were very nice, we had a little fun too discovering some of the marina touristic activities. we did all our internship with them, and that will be one of the things I’ll miss when I’ll be back in France, the atmosphere of this internship. … Also being 2 months in the foreign country, is good because I tried to understand what people were saying in Italian and as a french, it wasn’t too hard understanding Italian but I couldn’t speak it, however, it’s not a bad language I would like to learn it one day. I had the opportunity many times to go in Palermo, it’s a real beautiful city we learned about the Sicilian history a bit. Overall i found this experience really useful because I learned to live on my own for 2 months and to manage my money and so on…
