About Program

Spend your summer interning remotely and then traveling to Lisbon on this unique hybrid program! Sage Corps is an international internship program that sends students to work with startups.

We design our programs to teach students valuable skills for trending jobs. First, students first complete hard skill training modules as part of our Sage Corps Skills Academy. Next, students intern at global startups where they gain real world experience, either in-person with a cohort or remotely from home.

Our programs help college students and recent graduates accelerate their careers, and prepare for a competitive job market in the global economy. After completing our program, students join a talented alumni community of like-minded young professionals who accept full time positions at some of the world’s top international companies and startups.

  • Learn the digital nomad lifestyle with the support of a Sage Corps cohort, living with other interns and attending local events led by Sage Corps’ City Manager

An Unforgettable Summer

Working with Sage Corps this past summer was an unforgettable experience! I got to meet amazing and wonderful people and create lifelong memories with them. The Sage Corps team in Lisbon was supportive of everyone and helped a lot with adjusting to working overseas. The internship matching program is also unique, and does an amazing job of matching you with a startup that will support you professionally. My unique internship experience definitely stood out to recruiters, and helped me a lot with my job search. Without my Sage Corps experience, I wouldn't have experienced the career development I needed!

Pros
  • Great way to connect with other students
  • Unique experience working with a startup
  • Supportive program staff

Life changing experience in such an amazing city

It was my first time ever being in Europe, so was honestly a surreal experience. I really like how the program, although had quite a few events where all of us interns could meet eachother, was not too much and gave me the opportunity to explore the city of Lisbon on my own. Everything else about the internship was amazing from my job too the people I met/connected with through social events. The only reason I gave housing 3 stars was because of Livensa Living, they had some rude staff (even with being such a nice place) that would not be very attentive if you ever had problems. This is not Sage corps fault, but I can see them picking a new place in the future. Everything else about the program was an amazing experience!

Pros
  • Walkable city with internship near one of main city centers (everything also super cheap $$)
  • Good mix of social events versus nights on your own
  • The experience of working abroad brings with it maturity and deeper understanding of the world
Cons
  • Sometimes was hard to organize entire cohort/program together at once
  • Did not know my way around city until I explored myself / was pretty confused about transportation
  • Walks could be long sometimes (having a really hard time thinking of a third bad thing)
