Eager to do a finance or finance-related internship abroad? Connect-123 offers a choice of six leading destinations. Intern abroad in Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Sydney, Cape Town, Dublin, or Remote.

We've been placing interns since 2006 in a wide network of established contacts in the five cities we work in. Finance internship opportunities include placements that include, for example, updating valuation models for investment management firms, streamlining financial transactions for local non-profit organizations, or developing financial models for new businesses.

Program durations and start and end dates are flexible to fit your needs and we tailor your internship placement to meet your goals and skills. Our local staff provide on-the-ground support before, during, and after your internship including housing assistance, in-depth orientation, social events, cultural activities, as well as career support and guidance.

I needed an internship in finance. I was provided the opportunity to work for Spain's 4th largest bank and reported directly the Deputy CFO.

They suggested a living arrangement in an Erasmus residence. I lived with two people from France, two from Bulgaria, one from Venezuela, one from Amsterdam, one from Italy and another from America. The amount of cultural knowledge and fun I had in that apartment will never be matched again.

Connect-123 walked me through using the public transportation system to get to work, setting up events to meet other people interning and was always available for on-call questions.

A normal Friday was finishing a day of work, heading to the market to pick up fresh seafood, taking a siesta, cooking or heading out to eat, heading home to get ready for the clubs, staying out until 4:00am (beach/discotheque), napping for a little, then deciding which beach to head to in order to get some real sleep and eat mussels and patatas bravas upon waking up.

What would you improve about this program?

If I had to change one thing it would be recommending that all participants live in an Erasmus residence in the heart of the city.

Paula who holds a degree in journalism and has several years’ worth of experience in the media, has always had a passion for travel, especially exploring cultures and learning languages. While working in the US, Andorra, Spain, and Italy, she discovered her passion for working with international people and taking part in cultural exchanges. A Buenos Aires native, Pau enjoys interacting with interns and volunteers from all around the world…and showing them all that her city has to offer!

What is your favorite travel memory?

My favorite travel memory was when I traveled to Thailand without a plan. I was working in Andorra and decided to go on vacation to a place that would be very hard to travel to from Argentina.

I stayed in Thailand for a month and visited a lot of places. It was the first time in my life that I did not have a plan, or any hostels booked. I really enjoyed it!

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I have definitely developed work skills. My biggest challenge was being able to work on my own, independently. I have learnt how to multitask and use tools to solve issues effectively and in the shortest possible time. Meeting people from all over the world has exposed me to different cultures too.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

That they came back to Buenos Aires because they fell in love with the city! They chose Argentina as their home – they fell in love, had a baby – and that's life now.

Another story I loved was from a female student. She met Obama at the White House after her internship in Buenos Aires. She was so excited!

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I would choose an internship in Sydney. I have never been to Sydney, but I know that it is a beautiful city. For me, getting to live and work in Australia would be a dream come true. I'd learn about Australian culture and get to know the country's history while working my internship at the same time.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

I believe that what makes Connect-123 unique is the people who work here. Each staff member makes a difference. They are super friendly, and they are passionate about what they do. Everyone comes from different backgrounds, and we all contribute to our experience. This really adds value to our offering.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?
