IMCPI Individually Tailored Mandarin Courses in Shanghai

I was so excited to start my online classes with Imcpi, I got a superb offer (thanks for your support Jachie!) and attended chinese lessons for 4 months already, I learned chinese before with my university friend but it's too complicated so you absolutely need help of professionals to sucсeed! My teacher is amazing- she's active and engageing, I never get bored during online lessons, also we are two students in a group so we can have some competition in who learns quicker, I think it's a good motivation. It's sad that I could't come to China this year, but I hope that IMCPI will help me get student visa next year because I love this language and people!

I' m so exited to have my online lessons of chinese language! Really good teacher and staff, everyone so helpful and friendly, and lessons are very interesting, I look forward continuing my studies in Imcpi! Also price is really very good, I can afford chinese classes while I study in university in my country. I recommend you to go to this school and if you do online class, buy Hsk books before, it's better to have them in front of your eyes during lessons, not convenient to use computer for this. I took private classes at IMCPI before the pandemic and will absolutely continue my studies there when I finally manage to come back to China
Studying wasn't easy at all, especially the first two months, I was about to give up because I couldn't even cope with pronunciation and basic vocab. But my teacher kept reassuring me when I was feeling down -and thanks to her I didn't drop. Later it was becoming easier with every class because chinese grammar is not that complicated. Actually I had 2 teachers, both were proficient,supportive and very patient - thank you so much, Vicky and Crystal!!
Separate thanks to IMCPI team for 24/7 support and helping me to resolve the issue with my study contract when I had to leave the country earlier than expected. Hope to see you soon!

I've been studying in IMCPI since August'20. I got trial classes first, and it's a very convenient system because I could meet different teachers and decide with whom I'd like to continue (all this for free!)
In the beginning it was a bit confusing because my first class got canceled, then it took us long to agree on another date, I didn't know who my teacher would be until the last moment etc. I wish I had more clarity and instruction
Teaching aspect - very good, my teacher Cherry is super nice, positive and understanding, and unlike some of my past experiences - she's really good in explaining complicated topics. I understood logics and principles of chinese, which is the most important base for all beginners

I have been living in Shanghai for over 7 years and had some basic Mandarin knowledge, but I had to start learning Chinese more seriously because I got an oppotrunity to develop a new branch of business here. I chose IMCPI because it offered a business-oriented course (private lessons), and it was a very good decision. I was happy to have met Sam - a strict but patient teacher who prepared a special program (not just general HSK) focused on business language, and also explained me a lot of Chinese cultural aspects which I had to know, to avoid most common mistakes that often occur when Europeans establish business connections in China.
I would like to thank Sam and IMCPI team for helping me reach my goals, and for being understanding so many times, when I had to shift, cancel or ask for online classes because of my unplanned business trips and meetings.

This school is perfect for those, who want to get a good result quickly and who is ready to study a lot. Teachers are experienced and patient, but because classes are individual, it can be hard to stay focused all the time. I wish to have more fun activities and interactive learning in the future to be able to distract from serious studies from time to time.

I started from zero, and after half a year of studies I can see a big progress, especially in pronounciation - when I speak in Chinese in front of my Chinese friends, they note that this is very clear and correct, for my beginner level. I believe it is thanks to lots of oral practice during the lessons and attention that my teacher pays to tones.

My studies at IMCPI left only positive feelings. I tried learning mandarin before, when I just arrived in Shanghai 4 years ago, but dropped it quickly because the language seemed to be too complicated. Now that I got some basics from my wife and daily life in China, I decided to give it another try and came to IMCPI.
First of all, IMCPI offered me a cool opportunity to choose teacher by myself, they offered trial classes with 3 different teachers and then I chose one whom I liked most.
Studying plan was well oulined but still, before every class my teacher asked if I have some particular topics that I would like to cover in addition to main materials. She was very attentive and kind, we spoke a lot during classes, and this helped me get confidence in basic speaking quite quickly.
Still I was missing communication with other students, it would be great if IMCPI created more activities where students could meet, practice language and just have fun.
Now I am at HSK 2, and it is enough for me to feel ok in daily life. Thank you IMCPI and especially teacher Wu for your proficiency and patience!

I’ve been attending courses at IMCPI for a year, and I really loved the approach that my teacher Carol chose for our studies - it was very interactive, included lots of speaking activities and other language practice.
I also loved the attentive and caring attitude of school staff and their program of feedbacks. I could value how my experience was after every lesson and leave comments on what could be improved or added for the next class - i think it is so helpful and important both for students and teachers! We found some really great common language with my teacher thanks to that communication.
