I completed my 120-hour certification online with myTEFL - luckily I applied quickly enough after graduating that I got 50% off the course, which I definitely appreciated! The small quizzes interspersed throughout the course kept me engaged and made it easier to complete each section in bite-size pieces. Overall, the content was relevant and I ended up coming back to reference it when I was working on my first lesson plan. For anyone who's looking for an online TEFL provider, myTEFL is a great choice!

I chose myTEFL based on the quality and quantity of reviews I found online, and I was not disappointed! I enjoyed the progression of lessons and the assessments to make sure I grasped the concepts. I not only know more about the mechanics of the English language, but also have helpful use-cases and examples, as well as tons of new knowledge on how to manage a class. Customer support was always great and responsive to answer either academic or general questions - there was always a human on the other end.

I have done 120 hours course with mytefl. Each of courses were interesting topics and informative to learn. Each topics were only few pages to read and there was test right after you read the topic so it was able to test yourself with understanding of the topic.
Plus, if there is any issues or questions, there is always your tutor to ask and my tutor was amazing, very helpful and patient explaining my questions. I will recommend any of you who are interested in building up the resume or willing to teach English! You will gain lots of information and confidence!

I am so grateful to have found mytefl because I learned so much during the 120 hour intensive teaching wise. I had taught as a private tutor for two years and this was a huge review for me. Also, I picked up many tips and ideas for lessons as well as ways to better the classroom enviornment. I am more confident as teacher after taking this course and have a strong guide and library access in case any questions may arise. Thanks for answering my questions immediately! I recommend this program all the way!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Get your tefl before you travel! I went on a year long volunteer travel and wish I could do it over having access to teaching english along the way. Not only are you connected to different programs after youve graduated with your tefl degree you are more prepared as a teacher.

Just like everyone else before choosing a course, one needs to do their research. I did as well and trusted what was said about MyTEFL. And I can without a doubt say I am very pleased. It was just what I was looking for. My favourite thing about this course is the setup, the flexibility. The course is divided in comfortable parts allowing me to really choose how long I want to study. I would never feel like I am ending “in the middle of something”. No matter if I study for 5-10min or 3-4 hours. And obviously a big plus is that you can always paus and come back where you left off. Besides this, the course itself was well organised, and the quizzes were enjoyable to go through. The price is low for what you get… well I got nothing to compare it to, but I am happy I picked this course. Also, Important to add, the costumer service was superb. I needed help once and almost got instant reply. A big plus, my honest opinion 😊

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I would go slower through the course. I learned alot but I did it abit too fast. The content is really great, one should take advantage of that!

What is your favorite travel memory?

Wow! A tough question. There are a lot. Visiting an Old Believers’ village in Siberia, zip-lining in Thailand, going to Zhanjiajie in China, home of sandstone pillars that inspired the ‘floating peaks’ in “Avatar”, seeing the world’s largest complete dinosaur fossil collection in Ulaanbaatar and exploring coral reefs in the Philippines are some of them.

I’ll probably tell you a story of visiting Yunnan Nationalities museum in Yunnan, China. It covers a huge territory, and you can spend a whole day there. I saw homes, clothes and customs of over 50 minorities in China. This diversity struck me, even taking into account the big size of China.

It gets one to think about the world as an incredibly rich place, with hundreds of different cultures on the planet. We are truly lucky to see that.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

As an educator with 14 years of teaching experience, years of ESL management and teacher training, I always knew what being a second language learner or a new teacher was like.

However, I was never part of the journey students take after the course is over. This job gave me a chance to learn about another side of the sphere I work in.

It turned out to be very exciting, and as education is one of the fastest developing spheres of life (including the breakthrough of blended learning and international education that we observe nowadays), there’s always a lot to learn.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

That would most likely be Teaching in China. This would be one of the most rewarding jobs ever. Chinese students are extremely hard-working, and they are motivated, too.

Kids are familiar with interactive approaches to learning from the young age, and hundreds and thousands of adults, who you’d think would be set in their own way and use more traditional study methods, challenge themselves in order to become more successful.

Besides, there are always professional development opportunities, and as teaching is a many-sided career, China an educator’s heaven.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I’m going to say, successful companies always develop. They need to be proactive and open to new opportunities, but they always remember why they are there and what their goal is. Not every company can change the world, but every company can become best at what they do.

They value their people, because each of them can contribute to the company’s greatness. You never know what (or who) will become a new inspiration for you, your customer or the company.

Prioritize your external and internal customers, be attentive to details, keep learning and trying out new things and surround yourself with people that share the same passion, and you’ll become successful. Greatness is in simple things.
